Well yes, and add Carlton to that which I still feel was our WORST game as a whole.

You're right but it's less of an "if only" game because we were never really in it. The losses against Collingwood and the Hawks should have been wins.

But either way, we're back in it this season. If we play finals I think we'll all appreciate it more than ever.

I'll tell you one thing if we make it say coming 6th or 7th or whatever there will be a LOT of nervous sides in the 8. At our best we can win it, especially if we have all our players fit and healthy.

Sweet baby Jesus that was crazy finish.
Went from near meltdown at our turnovers and poor kicking to that moment of pure blind joy when Rohan got the mark.
It's bizarre watching them play so poorly and play so brilliantly. Am dizzy.

JPK. Heeney. My defender boys Reg and Smooch have got their groove back.

2 am still can't sleep. Bombers supporters trying to argue the point at quarter time........ while saying they know the rule............ while others are quoting the actual rule that proves them wrong.

But I guess they're not too big on rules and legalities down Essendon way.

Yep. Still awake

Zac Jones is probably the most relieved guy in Sydney atm :p

Incredibly, this is the first time I have perused the Essendon board in recent years and not seen multiple claims of "we wuz robbed by da umps".

Then again, the weekend is still young.

This is no exaggeration when I say that this is the single most speechless I've ever been during a Swans win. Even more so than when Mal kicked the match-winner in the 2012, or when Leo Barry took that mark in 05. I actually stared at the screen with my jaw open like a ****head for minutes on end - that's how much I had consigned myself to us losing this game.

I think this game best validated the frustration I've been feeling about the Swans all year. This was a putrid performance skills-wise (somehow even worse than in prior weeks), and we very nearly kicked ourselves out of the game and failed to capitalise despite the fact most of the game was on our terms. But then we get our **** together for, what, four, five minutes, and bam. We kick successive goals, produce some brilliant passages and make some smart decisions, and we win. THIS is where the frustration I wrongfully dished out on here throughout the first three quarters comes from. Why must they make it hard on themselves, and in turn, on us? Why can this team produce some great footy in small patches yet play like a bottom of the ladder side throughout longer patches? I know why, as I said in another thread this week. I think this is a team that's mentally on the rails. Two grand final losses, not to mention year after year of consistently high-quality footy deep into September, has probably shaken their ability to believe. It's why they can find the intensity and hunger to win the contest at times, then lose that intensity and hunger just as quickly. So I do get it, and it's wrong of me to make generalisations about the boys when I have zero idea about what goes on at the club. But it doesn't make it any less frustrating when their form ebbs and flows so drastically in the space of one match.

What my A-grade dummy spit has taught me is that you just cannot keep a great team down for long. No later than half an hour after preparing to give up on our hopes this season, they had won a game that seemed impossible. If sitting (temporarily) inside the eight, with six wins - all against teams above us on the ladder - is our version of a poor season, I will happily take it, and i'll be bloody proud to do so.

Really disappointing that that arsehat BT had to commentate this game. If I heard him yell Fantazia's name once more I would have put my foot through the TV. Surely there's someone better out there than this biased tool.

And he kept saying his full name. All the hallmarks of an arse-hat has BT.

Finishes like this are so rare.

Basically only a handful of after the siren wins that you will see your team produce. Rare to see a team erode a fair margin with minutes left.

Swans fans savour this one. We have seen some amazing finishes ie: Plugger, Nick Davis, Mark Bayes going nuts against the Bombers but this is going to be right up there in finishes you will ever see your team produce.

Plenty to pick apart in the whys but even after a sleep this is freaking special (Sorry Bruce stealing that one)

Jeez... No rest for the wicked heh?

God forbid someone would be the worst of the bunch... Who would've thought out of a list of players that there would be a few who where rated by someone else who the board could lay into?

It's as if every week there's a half dozen blokes you can continually get stuck into based on some stats not being "good enough".

Anyway, each to thier own. Hope you enjoy the win however you like mate... I mean no harm or offence. :thumbsu:

Held on in a close one. Should of been up by a lot more but showed great character to dig our way out. Impressed by some of our kids, big time.

In the 8 (temporarily)... wooo!! :D

Every week you want to post about posters, get over it and enjoy the win as you say surely?

Parker played well. Until the game got close

Towers stunk

Reid and buddys kicking stopped a big win

God forbid we dont just go yay swans and actuslly discuss a game, its like you take it personally,

Especially after it felt we had become the side that was losing close ones
