In the second quarter Tex and an opponent both turned to their left to chase a ball after a bad bounce.
Tex went via the Cathedral and the other bloke had 5 metres on him in a blink. It was the first time I really REALLY thought, "Yep, Tex is cooked". His missed shot at goal in the last when it was desperately needed is symptomatic of his decline.
Mackay's selection was unfathomable after he stunk it up last week against GC witches' hats.
Campo has GOT to go. If Pyke and the Club retain Campo/Hart/Burton, Pyke will be the first to get the chop.

I lost count of how many times we handballed backwards to a flat footed team mate when we were moving the ball forwards. We have lost our confidence and attacking flair, it looked as though we had tinkered with our game plan to a more defensive option earlier in the year which worked well but we have now lost that too.
We have no soul or purpose atm, we don't have any players that can take the game on and win it on their own boot, we have no forwards who can take a contested mark and we don't have anyone with any X factor.
Something needs to change, but unfortunately we know it won't. We will 'back the boys in to respond' and the same will be dished up next week.

Your coach lost me at half time of the 2017 grand final when he didn't change up a single thing (and it was obvious to blind Freddy that the crows had to kick longer or get pressed to death).

Not dissing the bloke personally, but he's a tactical one trick pony.

1.5 quarters and they have scored a couple of goals, we're 30 up, Bombers were done, we handed them goals and momentum with shit short kicks. That was game over, they just ran away with it killing us with speed of leg and mind on the rebound.

We don't have a single explosive player.

How poor kicking for goal is due largely to poor angles and shit entries from shit structure. Ancient forwardline. Prehistoric and as fast as a fossil.

Lynch is a pathetic downhill skier. He is atrocious. I cannot believe the amount of people who defend him

Tex is useless unless he doesn’t have an opponent. He can’t get separation, can’t apply forward pressure and he can’t take a contested mark. Can do one hell of a volleyball set though.

Eddie constantly flies for marks he will never take, leaving nobody at the fall of the contest and the oppo to literally walk the ball out of the D50.

Mackay is just an embarrassment.

Laird has no composure and his kicking to the moon is the direct cause of so much of the repeat pressure sides put on us.

Murphy might be the dumbest footballer I’ve seen. Always runs off the mark and puts unnecessary pressure on himself, consistently chooses the wrong inside 50 option and his defensive positioning is bewildering. He can’t tackle either. He has a dip but the bad is way worse than the good.

Try the young blokes out ffs, can’t be worse than these pretenders.

Also - how does Riley Knight, supposedly one of our fittest players, finish on 81 Fantasy after being on 70 at HT...

Lynch - should've traded, would've got great value, and could've help net Luko/Rankine/Rozee.

Tex - finished, sadly. I've defended him, but I think he's done.

Betts - can only get it done against shit teams now.

Mackay - meh.

Laird - wtf has happened to him? Does he not give a shit anymore? Trade to GC, should get something good for him.

Murphy - tries hard... so what? This isn't under 12s.

Nearly threw my phone at the tv when this happened. The least talented footballer in the AFL can still block for a teammate. Happened again later in the game too from memory.

Port and now Essendon just ran and handballs down the corridor without fear of being tackled.

It is not a speed thing either. It is poor tackle technique and defensive awareness.

This. You could see the play unfolding before it happened. Essendon would suck as in and then handball to a free player, meanwhile they’ve just taken out 2 of our guys. It’s like we are athletes with no footy brain.
