Home all day with influenza and a respiratory infection gave me a chance to watch the replay again....

Worst thing from the coverage was Dwayne's hatchet job on Brad Ebert when he picked off Murphy fairly... "Well he's got him high"

WTF

Another note - Johannisen is a farking shiverer. Shit his pants in multiple contests.

Has this been posted lol

I don't know why I'm surprised to not see Dixon on this.

Rory Sloane lol. Had 21 non-free kick touches playing full time midfield for the whole game, and his team didn't even win. Do they just check the Dream Team stats at the end of the round?

Lost my shit when I heard him say that.

See Byron (scapegoated), Matt Thomas (rubbed out for getting pushed into an umpire), Hammer (shepherded for a teammate, even Whateley was irate) Kane Cornes (perfect record be damned, he pushed a guy).

It's just Port Power, they'll live. Probably.
Remember in 2008 in Tasmania when Shaune Burgoyne fell over backwards but his lower back collected Sam Mitchell's head on the way down
4 weeks

Did the bulldogs player that slung Houston in a tackle and dislocated his shoulder get looked at?

Right up there with the worst mrp decisions against us

I couldn't agree more re Derwayne, when he was on the ABC ( mainly radio ) he was one of the most measured commentators there was, but since he has been commercialised he has become just another d*ckhead who has fallen in love with his own voice.

Agree also re Johannisen, he definitely hears footsteps!

Grabbed his wrist and pulled his arm back, was a bad look.

Especially coming from that ducking punk.

Every time Toby McLean plays a game of football he should cop a 6 week suspension for being Toby McLean.

The tackle on Houston definitely should have resulted in a reprimand (fine). Careless, low impact, body (shoulder) contact. The way he tackled was definitely a sling, and was made even more dangerous by the fact he was holding Houston's arm/hand!

Geelong and The Bulldogs are the two biggest ducking/diving/flopping teams I can ever remember.

Just infuriating to watch.
I think I read a few years ago the WA sides had the most free kicks due to sucking the umps in for ducking.

Yeah, no way should it have been a suspension... but had to be investigated and then thrown out!

If Houston hit his head on the ground, he would have got 3 down to 2.

If he tackled the flopping Dollhouse, he would have got life!

yea i don't get why they're allowed to grab the players arm so the player can't protect themselves when they hit the ground, to me it's just chris judd levels of being a shit campaigner

It's way worse and more intentional than a tackle to the hips that wraps the arms up with it and the mrp argue 'no duty of care to the players head'.

I guess other body parts don't matter.

But that's the inconsistency at the core of the problem.

They subjectivise similar incidents and then slap on a hard and fast grading depending on the mood and fervour of the time.

As I said last night on the show, until precedence is used with the tribunal this system is a fabricated kangaroo court of the highest order.

Those two jpegs highlight the ridiculous bias the MRP have in interpretation to players at times dependent on themselves!

Simple just ban holding wrists and arms in a complete tackle. If the tackler decides to sling they wear the risk of the tackle going too far and take the consequences.

Of course, you should be able to grab the arms in a tackle and pin them to the body, that's the best way of getting the player to release the ball and winning a free kick for illegal disposal. The issue revolves around whether or not slinging the player to the ground was a reasonable action.
