Every Club has ****wit supporters.
Port have acted quickly and emphatically - which is good to see.
That should be end of it.

I'll make sure I'm at the next Crows home showdown filming every incident, don't tell me they are all angels.
Try being me mate.
I write left handed. I bat right handed (cricket you filthy minded peasants) and bowl left handed. I do the javelin and shotput with the left hand and the discus with the right. I kick right foot and handball left. Golf right handed and tennis ambidextrous.
I'm so confused.
Well, that's the end of that chapter.
You have just started a big promotion in a new employment in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Part of the perks is you get two new interns at your work. They both get you coffees, run errands, and do assorted menial chores for you. You jokingly refer to them both as your 'slaves'.
One is white. The other is black.
Same thing? Or something totally different?
Context is nearly as important as intent mate. I see you kinda get it here in this post, but lets not try and suggest (as you did above) that calling a white guy a monkey and a black guy a monkey carries the same context, even when the intent is otherwise pure.
Why didn't the AFL do this with Eddie? Surely that would of sent the most powerful message.
There's clearly a problem. Port Power seem more focussed on their eternal PR war, they don't want to admit there is a problem so it persists. Something needs to change.
There's a fair chance the national audience was distracted by a rubbish game on channel 7 tonight.
However, unfortunately at the showdown in Adelaide an unsavoury event unfolded that needs to be brought to attention. With 30 seconds left in the showdown between Port Adelaide and Adelaide (a Port Adelaide home game) Eddie Betts scored a goal from the boundary only to have a racist fan reach into her bag and throw a banana at him.
You can see the incident here at around 30 seconds:
This is obviously a reprehensible and pre-meditated act. Who brings bananas to the footy?
If you know this racist human, go ahead and name and shame. Its time this kind of behaviour was stamped out of our game.
Disgusting and hopefully the AFL take action accordingly.
AFL website article says "object" thrown into field. It's pretty obvious what it is when you see the footage!

AFL trying to protect its image by trying to avoid another racism story.
Say what you like about WA crowds but I swear I've never heard any racism at any games over here. AFL, WAFL or Ammos. I think it's because so many of our teams have aboriginals in them and we have all played together at all levels. As a kid when I heard what happened to Winmar and McAdam I just couldn't believe it being in the 90s ffs, as well as what Chris Lewis had to put up with. How dumb do you have to be to throw a banana at an Aboriginal opposition player when your own team has 3 Aboriginal players in it?
Koch has come out stating that the club needs to discuss the incident with the fan to determine her motivation. Weak as piss, Koch. Even without the additional witness that has come forward only a troll or an idiot would see it as anything but explicit racism.
Social media post - which I agree hasn't been confirmed. But the obvious truth here is that it is blatant racism.Has a witness actually come forward or are you talking about a social media post
Here we go again. White man thinks the issue is people calling out racism and wanting it to stop. Here we go again.
An idiot does something racist, so the SJWs are out in force branding anyone who doesn't join their lynchmob as racist and insisting that it's clearly a massive issue.
Social media post - which I agree hasn't been confirmed. But the obvious truth here is that it is blatant racism.
Because the next victim might not be able to just shrug it off?Put the pitchforks away, Betts has clearly shrugged it off so what's the point of making a huge deal out of it.
Don't forget, Koch went hard and also revoked her membership for this season.Koch has come out stating that the club needs to discuss the incident with the fan to determine her motivation. Weak as piss, Koch. Even without the additional statement by a witness that has come forward, only a troll or an idiot would see it as anything but explicit racism.
To suggest otherwise is totally naïve or disingenuous - you just don't get out much. So you KNOW it was the first thing she had to hand. What tosh. Black athletes > monkeys > bananas has been around for decades. Just ask Andrew Symonds. Why so defensive ?The fact she threw a banana is reprehensible and she is a scumbag but it does not make them a racist. In your original post you said who brings a banana to the football? A fair few people not everyone choice to eat junk food at the footy. You seem to think the only reason the banana was thrown was because Betts is aboriginal maybe it also had to do with the fact he just kicked the match winner the scumbag was pissed off and threw the first thing she grabbed at him. To suggest the that she only brought the banana to the football to throw at Betts is ridiculous
True and credit to him for doing so. I would have liked to see him call out the racism from the start.Don't forget, Koch went hard and also revoked her membership for this season.
How many people were watching this game over the Collingwood v GC game across Australia? Port Power fans in general embarrassed themselves on the national stage last night. There were many other instances where you could visibly see young children, older folk etc F'ing and C'ing Adelaide players, real classy. They wonder why everyone hates them and they're irrelevant.

2016: Banana incident
2017: There will be more as Port Power refuse to respond strongly to these incidents.
Every country, every person is inherently racist. It's a natural reaction. So you believe that a few isolated incidents is sufficient to brand the whole country as inherently racist?
