Is pointing out that someone may be right defending them?

Literally yes.

You weren't debating it fine, you called the guy an "absolute quack" on the basis of your own prejudices and didn't address the substance of what he said back in 2020 at all. I attacked your comments because they are the sort of thing we hear from the likes of Andrew Bolt when he doesn't have an actual argument. You reckon you're better than that but you don't provide much evidence.

You're doing the same thing for a different political side and in the process discrediting that side by dragging it down to the level of news ltd hacks.

There's a saying "never argue with a fool they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." You've been dragged down to that level and don't have the experience to match it with those people.

You might want to reflect on that.

... Uh huh.

Scallop Industry Thug is spot on though.

So many people spent so much energy talking about how Democrats lost because they were out of touch and weren't connecting with the working class and blah blah blah.

But they say nothing about America now defacto being run by an oligarchy.

(And the whole 'that's always been the case, that's nothing new' excuse is a cop-out).

All of these posters cynical of wealth and power sure are quiet about a billionaire being bankrolled by a bigger billionaire to stock a cabinet full of billionaires.

I agree. Getting money out of politics would be a huge win for the people. You’ve got people on salaries of about $200k per year that have become extremely wealthy off of side deals.

At the moment both sides are beholden to power hungry billionaires.

You guys seem to know more than the will of the people.

They’re wrong and I’m right.

Text book teffy narcissism 101.

Can you elaborate on the Joe Rogan flat earth propaganda?

This is why I don't agree with people who keep attacking Macron. He's doing a good job on the geo-political stuff. Sooooo much better than the whacko far-right Le Pen alternative.

Lockdowns has evidently made people more complacent, lazy, soft.

You shouldn’t be getting paid to watch Netflix or play video games at home.

That's not what WFH is.

And any situations where that's occurring, that's just obviously bad leadership and management for not being able to identify and prevent it.

So he's good for the rest of the world just not for French people?

We should put it up for a vote to see if the public service can wfh..
be interesting to see what comes out of it for the laptop class.

Sure, and at the same time lets put up for a vote how much tradies should actually be paid and what conditions they should work in?

Right?

For public service roles?
sure why not, lets see how much people are willing to spend on projects and give consequences for when they go over.
Nothing wrong with accountability.

No, all tradies. All industries.

Let's add in teachers, and police, and nurses, and rubbish collectors...

Or is it only office-based government workers you feel should be treated differently?

touchy subject for you,
voting on whether government office based workers can wfh?
its a logical jump, did you want to leave it up to ministers of portfolios or should we put it up for a vote.

I wonder what teachers, police, nurses and rubbish collectors will sit on the matter of sending the public service back into the office?

Why do you care if they WFH or work in the office at all though? As long as the work is getting done and they're meeting all KPIs and performance expectations?

Do you have similarly strong opinions on the working habits of other government employees?

Sounds like a great opportunity for the public to set the acceptable standards for the public service if you ask me, might be a check your privilege moment for the laptop class.

It’s a bit of a mute point argument anyway, the first thing Elon did when he took over Twitter was sack all the people who were wfh, realised most of their jobs were administration and could be automated. I wonder if he follows the same pathway for the American public service?
Australia generally follows America, so what you give it 5/10 years before it happens anyways.
