Perfect example of what’s been happening in this thread and you only notice it if you put time in. Val posts a tweet with a clear statement in the caption. If you don’t bother to watch, you’re like wow Israel helped isis.

Then you watch the video, and that’s not what was said at all. The tweeter knew he was lying when he tweeted it. Who is he? Some stock tech bro.

Then you watch the video, and that’s not what was said at all. The tweeter knew he was lying when he tweeted it. Who is he? Some stock tech bro.

Ok now I know which one you were referring too. Yes I did watch it, I know he said Al-Qaeda not ISIS, but they’re still terrorists.

A few points;

1) That video is from nearly ten years ago (it's not recent - it's from the first Syrian civil war. You can tell because Mehdi Hassan is the interviewer, and he hasn't worked for Al Jazeera for over 5 years).

2) Did you actually listen to the video, or did you only see the caption? Because at no point in the video does that Israeli official say they "helped ISIS". He says that Israeli frontline army hospitals treated wounded Syrian rebels, including Al-Nusrah fighters.

Framing that as "ISRAEL HELPED ISIS!" is pretty malicious, frankly. And posting it now as if it's a new interview and a current event is absolutely deliberate misinformation.
