It is very simple.

Israel has every right to defend itself against further aggression. That they are inhumane whilst doing it is not really our problem. Shouldn't be our problem or concern. Israel in some form (let's call it home of the Jews for fairness) predates Palestine by what more than 1000 years.

The only people who actually sort of care are Muslims or Arabs or near anti-semites. Terrorists came into their country and r*ped, Murdered or took hostage, what 1300 people (this time). Still 200 or so hostages remain. That's despite having the same people start wars with them in '48, '67, '73 irrespective of recent clashes (14 or so).

There are no winners, can be no winners... Why don't other Muslim dominant countries help them? Egypt, Lebanon, Syria (is out now but), Iran, Iraq, UAE, all of them? Why? Because they don't want them either!

Yes it's inhumane, but you have to ask yourself why don't these countries just open their doors and let them in? That would be humane. But no, it's easier to blame the Jews for acquiring land won at defensive war, despite offering them their own state 20 years ago (declined by Arafat) and returning the land won in a defensive war. You have to ask yourself why don't you support Israel?


I wish there was an option that worked for all and there'd be a stop to Israel's aggression (which is just, believe it or not) and Terrorism (which is not just, no matter what).

I'm just a non-believer, I think they're all nuts. Completely. I certainly wouldn't be importing these problems which is what Australia, UK, Canada and of course the USA have done humanely, for many many years.

I don't think it is about religion. It is about land and identity.

I'm not against Israel, but I do think they need to rethink what Israel is. One state solution with a secular government is the only way to go.

But you know what other strong government ties he had?

Russia! At the height of the Cold War! Robert Maxwell had bonafide KGB ties and that came at a time when they were literal enemies with the West.

Hell, theres plenty of conspiracies out there that the Donald Trump pee tape that Putin apparently has was procured through Jeffrey Epstein. But you don't see me posting that and constantly using it as any sort of proof of nefarious deeds do you, because conspiracy theories are more often than not just made up nonsense.

The Russians previously only leased Sevastopol but annexed it after a referendum. Brzezinski talked about NATO expansion to Ukraine, taking Sevastopol away from Russia and breaking Russia up into small federations. Kissinger said it was a bad idea around 2014 iirc.

Is it about tracking your kids now? Do you think you would have liked that?

I have a shared location app with my older kids, they can locate me as I can them. Comes in handy on holidays, travel, large events, busy weekends etc.

I think we have have a high trust in our family. No one currently worries about being locatable. They are able to disable it any time they want.

The younger one is more about safety, reassurance.

Each to their own, we have open conversations. Works for us.

Tracking and stalking on socials are for me a much bigger issue, I am wary and talk often to them about the perils.

Yes, we are "comparing" Russia to other states. And guess what? Russia is so indisputably the worst offender in expansionism and geo-political violence in the last 20 years, and it's not particularly close.

When you add in Crimea, Eastern Ukraine, the regions in Georgia that he literally fought a war over in 2008 trying to annex, his desires to incorporate Transnistria in Moldova into Russia, the re-annexing/restoring of control of Chechnya in the Second Chechen War of the early 2000s...

I fail to understand how and why tankies make up blatant lies about Russia. These are easily debunked claims you're making. Why would you make them? Help me understand what point you think you're making here, because if it's anything other than "Russia IS INDISPUTABLY the most expansionist power of the last two decades" then you're peddling lies.

Crimea was part of Russia until the head of the Ukrainian Communist Party became leader of the USSR and transferred the territory to Ukraine in the 1950s. Its not really expansionism afaic. Might be considered such if Crimea wanted to be part of Ukraine but when Crimea moved toward actual independence in the 1990s Ukraine sent in military and cops to prevent that from happening and exiled the Crimean leader to Russia.

Its unlucky enough to be a political football between two dodgy racist states but was part of Russia until the guy who actually inspired the term "Tankie" stole it.

The places in Georgia where Georgian troops committed ethnic cleansing in the 90s all wanted independence from Georgia and that is not really surprising given what happened there. Transnistra has wanted to be part of Russia for a similar length of time. Its not tho is it and neither are those places in Georgia.

A very similar thing happened in Eastern Ukraine, a Russian speaking area that had always leaned toward supporting Russia politically where an internal conflict became a civil war between Ukraine and people who didn't want to be part of Ukraine anymore. Those places are hardly on par with Gaza or the West bank, it was Ukrainian forces that attacked and killed civilians without care a decade ago. If they hadn't perhaps this mess would have been avoided.

I don’t know, but I do know that Russia didn’t invade Ukraine while he was president.

He obviously has a better relationship with Putin than Biden does, who is obviously tied more closely with Ukraine.

I thought I was safe, I took all the safety precautions until the worst happened to me. It was legitimately the worst time of my life.
