Very nice structure!!!

Backline is sic with 5 keepers (like mine :thumbsu:) - Goose starting could be a problem, my advice is maybe get a waters/kennelly...
Mids are perfect for a 3 rookie stratagy - tbh id be to scared :(
Rucks are very nice - im more of a sandi man as he is so solid!
Forwards cant be better....

What u think of mine?

Backs - Goddard, Enright, Hodge, H. Shaw, Mackie, Kennelly, Hunt
(Maguire, Silvagni)

Mids - Bartel (c), Boyd, Ball, Masten, Martin, Barlow
(Shuey, Banner)

Rucks - Sandilands, Hille
(Warnock, Skipper)

Forwards - Roo, ROK, Gia, Grey, Zeibell, Hall, Dangerfield
(Rockliff, Podsiadly)

A big 0 left in kitty lolz,

Concerns over Hille - but should be back on track...hopefully
3 Cats in defence.....
An option i have is to go Mackie/Hille OUT Dempsey/Tippett IN
Another one is to upgrade silvangi/podsiadly to like davis/gumby or hitchcock.....

thx for help,

Very nice work!

Pods I would definitely try to upgrade and maybe Silvagni also but only if you have enough cash (don't trade in Davis though).

Your backline is fairly strong so you could easily downgrade Mackie to assure your rucks up but only if your not confident in Hille.

I like it, similar set up to mine. Although the mid priced forwards are different. With that being said i haven't watched much of the NAB cup this year.
So any comments would be appreciated.

Backs: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Shaw, Malceski, Hunt, Waters. EMG: P Davis, J Trengove.
Mids: Pendlebury, S Selwood, Cooney, J Trengrove, Martin, Barlow. EMG: Shuey, Banner
Rucks: Sandilands, M Clark. EMG: Warnock, Lobbe
FWDS: Riewoldt, ROK, Franklin, Pav, Medhurst, Ziebell, Dangerfield. EMG: Rockliff, Pods

Undecided on midfield rookies (Bastinac, Jetta). Have $59K left.

Cheers.

Backline a bit risky. Malceski and Waters = 1 bad game could mean out of side (Waters may not even play round 1). Davis and Trengove are unlikely to play much this season and if they do they will score poorly.

Mids are okay but I would try to upgrade Cooney to a premium.

Rucks are awesome but maybe you could downgrade someone to fill in the holes at other places.

Pretty Good foward line but you have a lot of money their. You could downgrade someone to fill in other holes.

If not Davis then who is best 2nd benchman? - Silvangi might be alright....???
The reason i have Mackie is because i do not want 3 of the under 240k dudes.....

Just changed a tad...

Backs - Goddard, Enright, Hodge, H. Shaw, Mackie, Ladson, Hunt
(Maguire, Silvagni)

Mids - Bartel (c), Boyd, Ball, Masten, Martin, Barlow
(Shuey, Banner)

Rucks - Sandilands, Hille
(Warnock, Roughhead)

Forwards - Roo, ROK, Gia, Grey, Zeibell, Hall, Dangerfield
(Rockliff, Hitchcock)

If not Davis then who is best 2nd benchman?

Nason and Webberly from Richmond. Nason starred in last weeks practice match and most are calling for him to be in included in round 1 side. Webberly may only come in around round 4 they reckon. Both are mature age so should score well.

The reason i have Mackie is because i do not want 3 of the under 240k dudes.....

I agree it's a bit risky having three. I have Harbrow as my 5th back, Dempsey has been in and out of the side also.

Your side looks good only change it if you think Silvagni will be kept out of freo's side

Will prob try and get nason/webberly (but rd 4....) in for silvangi...need 12 grand  - thx for the help...

As for 5th defender....my thinking was that Mackie went down from 2008 average and has averaged 83 in last 3 seasons!!!
Harbrow is very good...but there is just a little unknown  but it might be the right call (either way i will have 4 dogs or 4 cats lolz)

As for dempsey...alot of ppls worrying bout his past injuries!

...btw - congrats for hitchcock being elevated!!! - forward bench spots filled up!!!

900 left in kitty lolz,

Nice even team and can't really find any real need for changes. Bench also looks pretty strong provided they all get a run.

I would really appreciate some feedback on this team:

Backs: B.Goddard; C.Enright; J.Kelly; L.Hodge; H.Shaw; H. O'Brien, T.Kennelly (M.Maguire; B.Nason)

Mids: J.Bartel; M.Boyd; S.Mitchell; C.Masten; D.Martin; M.Barlow (M.Banner; L.Shuey)

Rucks: N.Naitanui; R.Warnock (W.Skipper; J.Trengove)

Forwards: N.Riewoldt; R.O'Keefe; J.Brown; B.Harvey; D.Giansiracusa; R.Gray; T.Rockliff (S.Gumbleton; J.Podsiardly)

18,700 remaining

The only changes I think I will make before cut off next week are to the reserves. Some of which I am not completely sold on yet.

My strategy to start light on rucks will be to have Warnock as my first upgrade to a premium.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the advice guys. Have traded out McPhee, Judd and Waite like you guys advised and quite a few others and come up with this team. Quite happy with how this one is looking though again with the midfield im thinking it might be a little too cheap, with Ablett the only guy]over 400k.

Defenders
B. Goddard, J. Grimes, S. Fisher, L. Hodge, J. Harbrow, T. Kennelly, J. Hunt
M. Maguire, J. Trengove

Midfielders
G. Ablett (Captain), J. Watson, A. Cooney, J. Trengove, D. Martin, M. Barlow
M. Banner, L. Shuey

Rucks
M. Clark, N. Naitanui
R. Warnock, M. Lobbe

Forwards
N. Riewoldt (Vice), R. O'keefe, M. Pavlich, L. Franklin, M. LaCras, J. Ziebell, P. Dangerfied
T. Rockliff, T. Dennis-Lane

I wouldn't get a couple of them, but otherwise it's a winning team off the field, at least. :thumbsu:

Too much of a risk with the rucks in my opinion. Like most I agree that rucks should be set and not touched but i can see why you've gone with this strategy. I just think you'll be losing too many points there early on. I think if you're gonna go with that type of strategy there should be at least one premium in the combo. Apart from that Im a little unsure on starting Rockliff and Gray may have a hammy? I'm not sure if that's been confirmed yet or the severity of it. Interesting tactic though i hope it pays off for you.

Defenders
B. Goddard, J. Grimes, S. Fisher, L. Hodge, J. Harbrow, T. Kennelly, J. Hunt
M. Maguire, J. Trengove

You'll need to look at Fisher but apart from that good solid team.

Thoughts on mine guys?

B - Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Harbrow, Shoenmakers, Hunt, Waters (Maguire, Silvagni)

M - GAJ, Gibbs, Selwood, Trengove, Martin, Barlow (Banner, Shuey)

R - Sandilands, Clark (Skipper, Lobbe)

F - Reiwoldt, ROK, Pavlich, Harvey, Ziebell, Hal, Dangerfield (Rockliff, Pods)

Shoenmakers strikes me as the odd one out in your team, not sure he has the scoring potential to validate his price.

Other than that very solid team.

I like Shoenmakers.

If he gets a game in round 1 he'll be under consideration.

He has to improve if he wants to keep his spot in the team. Gibbo replaced Croad so I assume there's not much room back there with Ellis, Ladson, Gilham, Guerra, Birchall down there.

Can anyone give me some final thoughts?

Made a few tweaks since the last time I looked at it pre-NAB cup.

Was stressing quietly over the rookies, but a bit confident now that Gumbleton will be named Rd 1, and Hitchcock has been elevated.

^
Schoenmakers is a key defender and we all know what that means. That said he has exceptional foot skills and could double as a rebounder.

He will play every game unless he gets injured, but i would think there are better scoring options.

Forward line is too weak, really you would want only 1 of Medhurst, Zibell and Dangerfield, they will have good weeks but are likely to have a lot of average weeks.. Id be looking to get atleast 1 of them out for a premium like ROK or Brown.. Id also consider getting rid of Scott Stevens in your backline..

My team:

Backs: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Harbrow, Malceski, Hunt, Ladson (Goose, A. Smith)

Mids: Ablett, Dal Santo, Mitchell, Masten, Barlow, Martin (Schuey, Banner)

Rucks: Clark, Nic Nat (Skipper, Warnock)

Forwards: Roo, ROK, Brown, Franklin, Gray, Ballantyne, Dangerfield (Podsially, R.Roberts)

One thing I'm considering changing is Dal Santo for Selwood or Pendlebury..

Thoughts?

thx for help,

very similar looking side, so only naturally am i inclined to say it's a beauty :D

I have my concerns over kennelly however due to him never actually being a DT star and people seem to be jumping blindly on the bandwagon but this is just a person opinion

Other than that seems to be an all round solids team.
I would also swap Mackie in for someone else...Very inconsistant

My side

B - Enright, Hodge, H.Shaw, Gilbee, P.Stewart, Ladson, Hunt (Maguire, Trengrove)
M - Ablett, Dal Santo, Watson, Cooney, Martin, Barlow (Shuey, Banner)

Backs: Stewart is an interesting pick, although i don't see him averaging much more than mid 60s. Ladson has been pretty poor in the pre-season scoring 43, 40, 39. Can't see any reasons why Waters or Kennelly wouldn't be a better buy. Gilbee is like Drummond and Hurn.... much better in SC than DT, but the Bulldogs look pretty hot this year so he may improve his average along with his team-mates if the team dominates the home and away.

Mids: Watson, Cooney and your rookies are fine. Ablett i think is someone i'd wait on. The Cats have been behind the eight-ball in pre-season and there's the whole Gold Coast contract thing to play out. for his price i want to be 100% sure he's going to hit the ground running. Dal Santo doesn't have much room to improve either.

Rucks: All good.

Forwards: Pav and Franklin i'm not sold on, but i can see why you'd have them. Dangerfield i think is a trap. he's an impact player and hasn't shown enough scoring potential for mine.

My side

B - Enright, Hodge, H.Shaw, Gilbee, P.Stewart, Ladson, Hunt (Maguire, Trengrove)

I like the look of your side
no glaring deficiencies.
I would however downgrade someone like Watson or Cooney, to say an Armitage or Masten, who both are going to improve by about 15 points per game on their average last year.
Dangerfield has been having injury troubles of late...so i would reassess there. Ballantyne maybe?
Their is better value in your defence than Stewart. Waters? if over his injury concerns he is immediate best 22.
You should have some left over cash so could fix up one of your forwards or defenders
This is all just my opinion however:D

Backs: Goddard Gram Enright Ladson Hodge Kennelly Hunt (MacGuire Farmer)

Cen: Ablett Swan Gibbs Masten Martin Trengrove (Barlow Schuey)

Rucks: Sandilands Natanui (Warnock Skipper)

Forwards: Franklin Didak Riewoldt Dangerfield Gray Ziebell Gumbleton (Hitchcock

Roberts)

Any comments much appreciated

sorry man, all ur advice is wrong, do not downgrade watson or cooney! Ballantyne has more injury doubts than dangerfield!
