fair enuff, Im just dirty on Jols and a few other things could/should have been done different imo..

Cheer yourself up by watching the tape of us playing the Cats in Sydney. Pretty sure it was one of Jolly's lesser games, and the bloke who bettered him was Mumford (from memory).

There's a real sense of achievement this trade week, it seems to me. The club has done really well to pick up some strong young players with experience, and we still have two first-round draft picks up our sleeve.

And let's not forget we already have at the club them likes of Johnston, Currie, Gilchrist and Heath, all untried but with so many good reports, and Veszpremi, Meredith, White, Bird, Jack, Hannebery and co.

A very worthwhile week.

I'm actually quite happy with our trade week. I'm very interested to see how our list lodgement pans out now. Can someone work out, if we don't make any more trades, how many guys we'd have to delist if we were to upgrade some rookies and add all our trades?

RETIREMENTS/TRADED OUT: 8

TRADED IN: 4

ROOKIE PROMOTIONS: 3 (most likely, 4 maybe)

DELISTMENT: lets just say 3

that's about 4 drafts if my maths is right

Swannys have traded very well this year. Brisbane and Saints also up there.

The " we have been screwed award goes to Hawthorn, maybe karma as their president wins tool of the day - every day!

We only have 3 draft picks though, right?

6, 14 and 38?

those are the 3 of any real value

our next should be pick 54, but we might end up trading that to the bulldogs

after that i believe it's 86

so.... 6, 14, 38, 86

edit: unless we trade for the bulldogs late pick, like AG said

We will likely end up saving a pick for the PSD as well, as there could be many uncontracted players after this week

Yep, 6, 14, 38, 54, 86.

54 to Dogs for their 60s pick still leaves us three picks in the top 40 which is fantastic. We'll probably draft 4, so that means we might de-list someone extra to save a pick for the PSD.

I'm very happy with the result, despite being unhappy with the way Jolly at first wanted to back out of his contract to return to Melbourne and then to throw the tantrum saying it had to be Collingwood.

But great result in the end.

It will be so hard I imagine for Roos at the end of next year, after having set up this team for another shot at the flag with some great youngsters and experience also. Will be a sad day all round when he goes. And we wont even get a trade pick for him, ha ha.
