Paddy Dow’s first quarter was first class. Honestly instrumental in getting us that quarter time lead. I think the penny has dropped not just for him but for Kennedy as well. If these guys lift to where they can be/realise potential - it’s going to bare fruit for us.

Down back, it was Stocker and Weiters. Just all class. Stocker has absolute mongrel in him. No Cameron next week is massive for our back 6. JSOS up forward, played close to his best game. The repeated effort to get contest to contest and his involvement in scoring chains was pivotal.

Cripps battled all night on one leg and showed great leadership whilst Walshy alongside Kennedy in that last quarter helped us over the line (what a goal!)
Only big thing I worry about is not winning clearances for long periods. It’s where we have a huge area of growth still.

don't get me wrong think he will be a great player and has tremendous talent but what was so great about this game? 13 disposals and two marks seems fairly average
Presence and physicality aren't on any stat sheet but they were off the Richter scale tonight he makes us walk taller.
His inclusion has improved our team immensely his willing to walk where angels wouldn't is galvanizing this group, .

Honestly reckon Dow player showed more strength (and confidence to use his strength) and smarts than he did burst speed tonight. Excited to think that might be something he can add back into his game
In there fighting to extract the ball at the centre bounces was a damned fine effort. Also, knowing when to step back and pounce on the ball as it exits the pack was also a great move. And then his moves through traffic... almost better than sex! Better than chocolate beer!

I'm not worried about the clearances until next year. If we can't clear the ball, we need to be putting pressure on their players to slow down their clearing the ball. Come next year, after another 5-10kg onto TDK, and another 8 months working with Kreuzer... we won't have to worry about winning or losing the taps because TFK will be another Kreuzer (without the damaged knee).

Not as good as a Russian stout but his handballs where tight he’s gone past Cripps for sharp precision hands

Agree Dram, with a new midfield coach and structures to learn, more of a closer eye next year I think on clearances will be had. But for 2 quarters and the start of the fourth tonight, that pressure was not there. They waltzed it out half the time and their delivery was actually pretty decent, our defensive unit was really solid in defending lace out passes, especially in that 3rd qtr

Absolutely, Cripps needs to stop trying to be the big bull at a stoppage and work on clearing the stoppage. Take the first option instead of getting swung around like a record for a couple of turns.

I think at the 20 minute mark in the last, the commentators mentioned that Freo were winning the inside 50s for the quarter, but had only scored a point. Now that's a solid defence.

TDK already looks bigger up top I told you I met his uncle who is huge and said his dad is huge genetically he is going to be a big solid unit.
I reckon next year is his break out it’s not an if but when the 10 kilos like you say

Yeah they racked up a fair few in the first 10 mins I’d say in the last. They were awesome and hats off to them all. They were trumping us everywhere and those boys absolutely stood up to stop the flow

We didn’t coral we attacked the ball player went straight at them and forced rushed disposals it was a team defence

I don't know if it is the review or what but they certainly have lifted these last 2 weeks when it looked all but a forgone conclusion we would fade away not winning another game before teague was booted.

I said a few weeks ago keep persisting with Dow you can see the improvement is coming and tonight he showed it, just needs a bigger tank to do it for longer. He was the difference early
Power replacing Barker seems to have helped.

During (I think) the 1QT huddle, Martin, who was just behind Dow, suddenly looked at Paddy and grinned in a way which screamed “Teague singled out Dow’s effort”, which I loved seeing
