Beat Richmond - they were tired from the bye
Collingwood - didn't have Cloke or Adams
GWS (who beat Hawks the next week and were top 4 at the time) - they had a bad day
Port in Adelaide - They're not good any more
Smash Geelong - they haven't been good for years

This week we beat Sydney - they are out of form - didn't have Richards or Tippett - it's only 1 good win
Based on your logic.. we make GF and win it against hawks who didn't show up. what a load of crap. you are one of those supporters who is never satisfied??? learn how to give credit when credit is due. 12-3 record is a great accomplishment, regardless of other teams injuries, form, easy draw, humidity levels above average, sun in their eyes, hurricanes and whatever other crap you want to name to downgrade 12-3 record.

No, it means we are first to the ball.
Lots of others sides are first to the ball too. However, our inside mids notably do not give away many free kicks because they are not very aggressive.

Priddis is about the most polite ball winner the game has ever seen, and Masten/Shuey/Rosa/Gaff/Ebert/Fletcher are/were all pretty tame when it came to attacking the contests all any costs. We have also been big on bombing the ball long rather than run and carry, so we have been less likely to get caught HTB.

Kerr not so much, but his small stature would have made it less likely to catch someone high or push them in the back.

Glass and Mackenzie have been the masters of scragging just the right amount to not give away a free kick.

In terms of frees awarded to us (which is not really what the debate is about), Cox and NN would have drawn a lot due to their dominance in the ruck.

Shuey/Selwood/Hams had a streak of drawing a few - the most conspicuous example of all (which is basically the only reason why the whole free kick thing has been brought to light). But their reign of ducking was a drop in the ocean compared to the ten year period.

Just checked his career stats, 8 games against the Swans, 0 goals:eek:
Yep. He has some weird quirks. Always gets smashed by Harry O, can't kick a goal against Sydney, has never handballed off within 40m of goals...

Umm what?

Maybe I wasn't being clear in my attempt to be a 'BigFooty troll' - I was taking the piss.

My bad. just protective of My Eagles. no matter what happens from now on, I'm proud of them this year. God help them ext yr, prelim is a minimum.

From where we are now, given we will likely be favourites in all games bar Hawthorn, Prelim should be the expectation.

If we don't make it, it's not a huge deal in the context of our overall development, this year has been an overwhelming success so far.

somehow i think our game against Hawks will be game of the season( hawks will win tho). Barrass might be an absolute star straight away. either way, my predictions sees hawks finishing first ( yes first), and us and freo battle it for 2nd and 3rd, which is irrelevant anyway. I see freo dropping games against us, tigers and one more. even if they drop games aganist us and tigers and we only drop one against hawks. hawks will finish 1st and we go 2nd( better %).

Would hate to finish 2nd and lose the home ground advantage, but on the flipside, would love to finsh 3rd or 4th and ruin Freo's home ground advantage:D:D

you do have the home ground advantage by finishing top 2. so 2nd is still good.
