The really interesting part is that mine is 25 now, and shows no passion for anything. He is controlled and softly spoken, yet at the football he lets loose his inner passions. Exactly as every luminary, and every pleb has ever done.

I think as we start the rise we will have less reason to be angered at umpires and the heat will go out. Time will tell

Hard not to love that about football.
Was thinking something similar today about the team taking the umpires out of the equation.
You’re son sounds like a Quality stand up young man. 👍 Pardon Pun

Im not sure which commentator it was but they said it at least twice. It was a mature performance. Every time the Crows mounted a comeback we responded. We won every quarter. Never even felt like we were going to fall in a hole and that sinking you used to have when we were going well waiting for the inevitable collapse has gone. How a side can turn a corner so quickly is quite frankly astounding. We all know the reason. Sign him up.

Anyone else see the Crows fan attempting to burn his jersey today? Outside gates 2-3 after the game. He had a big crowd of other Crows fans cheering him on but a bunch of cops came to break it up.

They weren't aggro or anything...just understandably shocked at the loss.

By any chance is that guy a poster on here?

Drove down from Albury for the game today. First time for a few years that I have seen a Carlton win. I thought Setterfield was awesome today, Plowman was fantastic, Teague got the defensive match ups spot in my opinion. Every time crows got a run on we absorbed their pressure. Definitely a mature performance
Cripps is next level. Absolute beast.
Dow was very average today. He just doesn't chase hard enough. His work rate is poor. He needs a massive pre-season. Stick with Walsh or Curnow or he will be left behind.
Taylor Walker is the softest bloke going around. Pretend tough guy.

Exactly - we responded every time. The Crows actually increased the intensity significantly in the third quarter and other teams including Carlton of recent years would have lost from only 16 up at halftime. But this team was ready and simultaneously increased our pressure back on to them.

Under Teague we have shown we can compete in different styles - pressure cooker stuff as well as shoot outs, and we move the ball a lot quicker (some of those handball sequences were sublime) and with purpose now. Once we figure out how to structure our forward line better to make the most of our weapons we will be very difficult to beat even when not on song.

It was ridiculous.

All of a sudden there was an arm coming from the aisle which reached across me and was put on my son (in a gentle motherly way) by some random female who asked Chris not to stand. She did not introduce herself and seemed very sheepish at the task she had to perform.

Not stand at an exciting football game? Isn't that why we go? Isn't that what the game is built on? Isn't that why the AFL makes so much money?

We were non-plussed. Had no idea where it came from. some time later the SOC (silly old cow) behind us revealed herself as the culprit when she complained at half time that Chris (6ft 2) was blocking her (5ft 2 vision). So I suggested a solution. Lets swap seats. We will be behind you and cannot then hinder your view. their decision? 'Nah, we're good thanks.' We can complain, but we cant be arsed moving. idiots

it depends. If you are standing up during play, that is rude. If it’s after a goal or a stop in play go nuts
