Might make us have more players that actually cared about running both ways though...
Hall needs a slap, last week's performance was unacceptable...
Big fan of what he can bring us but the best way to get people to do what is required is not to turn a blind eye and hope he 'gets it!'
A Hall needs to be dropped and earn his spot back in the twos by tackling, pressuring, and by hitting targets..
Man he is going to be a good when he can do that!

Almost the definition of downhill skier.

i'd like for all 4 of the in's to stay in, but that seems unlikely based on the way sunday teams are usually listed on the thursday night.

i would go:

ah chee > matera
hall > lonergan
bowes > fiorini
lemmens > harbrow

ah chee hasn't shown much at all. matera seems a logical replacement based on NEAFL form.
put hall on notice. lonergan might not be a straight swap in terms of ability/playing style, but you'd think he'd be itching to perform and cement a spot in the team.
bowes hasn't been overly poor, but i fear we may expose him to too many big losses if we keep up our form from the first 2 rounds. i'd rather him develop his game in the seconds for a little bit, gain some size, but the little glimpses of class we have seen does put a case forward to keeping him in.
lemmens hasn't been terrible, but his kicking is a bit worrying (mind you harbrow isn't a lot better at times haha). seany is the hardnut that we need down back, but i you've gotta be solid all round to keep your spot. would be good to see harbrow back in the team to hopefully give a bit of leadership to our young defense.

Very rare to see a player listed onfield to be booted from the final 22.
I think matera - achee and harbrow - lemmens are both about right. Can see lonergan replacing sexton and possibly fiorini in for joyce

Wow cannot believe hall has kept his spot in the side for Sunday's game it is an absolute joke cannot believe bowes has also been left in the side has not performed the last two weeks at the standard required for AFL has not got the body or the strength to compete with the bigger bodies also notice that he's got no speed what do the coaches see in him my god they certainly favour him also why isn't will Brodie been brought into the side coaches at Gold Coast have definitely got their favourite no two ways about it no wonder they going so crap.

I have to agree with most of this, as much as it hurts to admit it.

Agree Hall should have been dropped. Although Bowes is going to be a player you are spot on will get slaughtered by Popi Bruest Rioli etc at this stage of his career.
If we are only going to omit 1 or 2 players from that appalling effort last week l'm dumbfounded.

Came on here to rant about Hall being named on the ball, Brodie nowhere to be seen. Looks like someone got to it first :$

If we were serious about turning our season around, we wouldn't be rewarding Hall with another game. Rocket has lost the plot.

Absolutely and if Fiorini and Lonegran don't come into the 22 l'm going to loose my s...t.

I dont understand all this love for playing young mids in the back line. Once or twice is ok but also give them a chance up forward and rotate them through the middle abit more.
Yep and they are going to f...k Fiorini up as well farting around with his natural position.

I am getting tired of all the shit Gary is getting in the media. The man has been a superstar here and I have loved watching him play. Yes, he had a shit game in round 2 but so did the rest of the club. Now you get every dick in Victoria riding him like a camel.

The guy has some personal issues, possibly relating to his dad's health (total speculation) so, he might want to be closer. So be it. He said he is committed to the club for 2017 and has earned the benefit of the doubt, IMO. If he retires at the end of the season, I wouldn't hold it against him.

I hope Gazza and the Suns come out on fire this week and shove the Sherrin right up O'Meara's ass as we beat down the Hawks.

Maybe then the flogs in Melbourne will leave him alone for a week or two.

I think Matera will have a solid game this week, showed some decent touch in the 2's. Will also bob up for a couple of goals as he always does, something Ah Chee always struggled to do.
Don't hold your breath. He's played well in the twos then stunk it up at the top level many times.
