Wow, you have FOUR men close enough to 2 metres tall and somehow the only guy to be in the best position is 173 cms. So, why was he there? Why weren’t the big boys there, why was it kicked there? Why? Does not make any sense. Disappointed beyond belief. Need a few days off... can you just imagine Bolton’s scripted presser. Keep sharp object away from him. Is that 3 from 36? The guy must have nerves of steel. Wow, wow, wow... so disappointed.., need to back away. I just can’t justify this. How? Why? I tipped a win and we got close by please the decisions the the last q were just. Uhhh I dunno...

It's not that Gibbons was in the best position, it's that the player kicking inside 50 didn't assess the forward options, and even on the rare chance that the player kicking inside 50 did assess the options the ball was still kicked to the defenders advantage. More bullshit disposal that hurts us on the rebound.

The hard part is IF Mc govern had been standing on the line we could Have won.
IF Jones was paid his mark we win.
But winning like that and playing like that is not what makes our game fun to watch. It isn't what bring supporters to being members.
We had a lot of dumb things happen today on that field and almost no one is immune.

Players running past free and we never handball or if we do skill errors kill us.
We have players who have the skills we have all seen them do it and yet their own team mates don't back them in or trust them or they simply do not have the awareness to lower their sight and look for options.

I cannot get to games during seasons do people hear our players talking and supporting each other?
Not after Goals are scored or great tackles or individual play but guiding leading from experience? Game knowledge etc etc?
McGovern not on the line is dumb. I'm a reserves footballer and know to be closer to the line.

Jones mark paid we still have 1m 15s to soak up. Hell, they kicked a point after the non paid mark and we still ****ed it up. No impact on the result.

We didn’t get done on one kick. One kick cost is the four points.
We got done because we played dumb footy...

We don’t tempo footy good.

Under 2 minutes from the finish we were slotting it about, but blokes have to run close it down and use up the clock.

Don’t ever doubt the players are hurting.

There’s a lesson to be learned from this.

Always next week....

I'll need to check the vision, but if this happened I would drop him. His performances are already declining but there is no place for joviality after what happened.
perhaps it is a defence mechanism knowing he would be feeling the heat after that game- bit harsh to judge the dude

This is not just about four games. We dont have a game plan and system to win games of football. We may scrape through the occassional aberrational game but this is where we sit. We have some of the best young talent in the country and its going to waste.

As they say its not the players its the system.. We have one but not the other.

Been preaching this for some time now.

Not coming here to rub salt in the wounds, but that’d have to be the worst officiated game ever both teams copped poor decisions and Jones should’ve been payed that mark in the last minute

I saw 2 games last week where the umpiring was worse (Dees v * and Us v Swans). But the standard has been terrible this year.

Kruezer plays today we win, that's a (sugar coated) fact

I keep harping on about this but 15 seconds of footy should condemn the team from Heroes to Villains.

I also think the current game plan is the way to go, the more the boys use it and get used it, the better they will adept to it (skill wise especially)

Our boys are not that far off, we have to make allowances for their youth and relative inexperience.

l
This crap about kruezer, all teams have injuries, deal with it. Sick of people complaining who isn't out there.

I am still taking great pleasure in that new Rise of Skywalker trailer (Palpatine you beauty !!!)
Sorry, not even Palpy is going to salvage the mess that was the previous film. Having him in just shows they've run out of ideas.

Don't understand the meltdowns to be brutally honest. This club has put similar performances to this for over 19 years regardless of coach. End of the day we are rebuilding from a long way back and our olders players have never been good enough to consistently beat down weaker sides. Need the young guys developing into tougher stuff than the guys before them. Our execution in general is pretty average at best and our scoring ability has been garbage for a long time. Can't blame Bolton for people kicking to the wrong target under no pressure. We either don't have the forward line leading or spreading hard enough or/and our mids fluff the kick inside 50. 1 super star, few helpers and everyone else not showing up. Same old Carlton as any other year in recent history.

I honestly think that loss, in that manner, was better for us than a win....

This is really close to the best post in the thread. You lost me a bit with the whole humiliation and setting stuff on fire, but the sentiment is spot on. A win today would have been a sham. We were putrid.

There's nothing like hitting rock bottom to turn things around, and thankfully I think today was it. Today's loss was far worse than our 100-point beltings of last season. We were genuinely capable of winning, but couldn't, or wouldn't. And it absolutely stinks.

A lot of people underestimate the impact kruezer has on our team. Our backup ruckman are simply not afl standard and the mids are on the backfoot every week. If kruezer playing I firmly believe we would be 2-2

The majority of you are honestly ****ing insane.
So does Silvagni deserve criticism then?
No..... It's clearly on the players for not taking the time to hit up the right option, or at the least kick to advantage. Why are you looking to blame coaches or recruiting staff, it's all on the players and they know it. It's a young team this shit is going to happen this year, next year and possibly the year after too. Stop expecting miracles and accept this shit is going to be the norm until our players have a lot more experience.

On the plus side the back line now looks to have settled down, it took a season but Jones, Weitering and Plowman are working well together.
It'll probably take the forwards a similar amount of time to gel together.

Both had 20 disposals and 2 clangers. Fisher kicked it more, but had worse efficiency, 55% v 60%.
Dow had 6 clearances vs 2
Disposal efficiency is a terrible measure of how well a player can kick. Thomas and Plowman are our top 2 this year for disposal efficiency, but I doubt you'll find many who agree they're the best kicks in the team.

I just don't get it at the moment. We surely worked on our structure and game plan all off season and if it were leading to playing 4 talls we should look far more cohesive than that and if it was the structure we like why haven't we used it every week. It's actually starting to smell really disorganised.

We play well and just come up short in games we are not expected to win, and play like busted arses in games we have no excuse to lose. Our mindset is fragile IMO.

And this loss has no impact on Bolton future. He shouldn't be under any pressure internally (externally they will come because media loves a coach under pressure). The club knows the plan and where we are at. We will still win our 4 or 5 games this year.

We have been competitive in every game and it will turn. We should have won this and probably easily but just shot ourselves in the foot time after time. Not Boltons fault, just poor execution and brain fades.
