I couldn’t give a flying , JB.
I think a good vent after a performance like that is perfectly reasonable.
It’s the perennial defenders here that think they must protect the club at all costs that make me laugh ...

It's one thing to vent, it's another to use the "vent" to go after other posters and play the man so to speak. That's were it becomes drivel.

worked for the gold coast...
And it would have had anything to do with the 20-13 free kick count this week?
Or the 19-15 free kick count against Freo?
Admittedly they got hammered against the mutts, but the mutts also have protected status!

Changing a senior coach 4 games into the season isn't going to do shit for us. We might get a dead cat bounce and win a couple of games, like we did under Barker, but by the end of the season, things will be back to status quo again!

Bolton’s confirmed that bombing it long is part of the game plan. He made an on the fly change to structure to push his keys further up the ground, without thinking of the consequences that would be involved when he's training his midfielders to bomb it long - the way you train is the way you play. We're training a lot of these snap decisions. Bolts mucked up, bad.
Are you making that up sky? Because I watched Bolton’s presser and he didn’t say anything at all about bombing to our fwds.
The only concern for me is that he said he doesn’t want the ball to go into our fwds too quick or at least that’s the way I understood it. If so that makes my head spin...listen to Wayne Carey about getting the ball in quick to your fwds...he’s a dick and all but one of the greatest chf of all time so I pay attention when he’s talking about how the ball should go in to your forwards.

Not gonna bother blaming the umps. Some of the rubbish disposal out there cannot be pinned on the umps. Dow and LOB are just poor users. SENd them to the twos please. Charlie has drowned in his bath water and Murph is utterly poor.
And who the hell sent the memo out to repeatedly kick the ball to the small guy in our forward 50?
Other than that, cripps, writers and Jones the only ones to hold their heads up.

Although he din't have a great game I thought Dale Thomas tried his guts out as well

The hard part is IF Mc govern had been standing on the line we could Have won.
IF Jones was paid his mark we win.
But winning like that and playing like that is not what makes our game fun to watch. It isn't what bring supporters to being members.
We had a lot of dumb things happen today on that field and almost no one is immune.

Players running past free and we never handball or if we do skill errors kill us.
We have players who have the skills we have all seen them do it and yet their own team mates don't back them in or trust them or they simply do not have the awareness to lower their sight and look for options.

I cannot get to games during seasons do people hear our players talking and supporting each other?
Not after Goals are scored or great tackles or individual play but guiding leading from experience? Game knowledge etc etc?

How the **** did Jones not get paid the mark. What a ******* disgrace.

Dow needs to be dropped deplorable ******* disposal, seriously pathetic.
That was a clear mark and a TERRIBLE play on call. Rubbish umpiring intervention right there. If the umps deliberately put the whistle away that is disgraceful. That was a fair mark any day of the week and at any stage of the game.

Gutted by the loss and if not for that kick in the last 15 seconds, this thread would look completely different

Bolton will not get sacked, so b1tch and moan as much as you like

The 4 talls didn't cost us the game, it was disposal, again

It didn’t help, especially when you have an inability to play to your strengths. Garlett the forward to defender, Weiters the Backman to forward now Lang’s playing back in the twos? It’s rules on the run at the moment, Levi was never the answer..Polson wont make it (bookmark it) Gibbons not up to it however it wasn’t his fault today. Lots of shuffling of the deck chairs from an inexperienced coach searching for answers. TBH i can’t stand playing players that arnt ready being promoted only to be cut down. LoB not ready and then dropping them. Lobs clearly our of his depth at the moment...hindsight’s a wonderful thing but JSOS should be playing. Ide take him over Polson Garlett and Gibbons any day of the week. The Levi conundrum will be solved next week when Kruezers back.

Too many posters blaming the coach and selection. I thought the game plan was excellent today, we identified their weakness in the air, it’s the players that didn’t execute both in their delivery of the ball inside 50 and the positioning of the fwds. But that was a very ordinary football team we played today and they were pretty shit too tbh so lots of thinking to do this week.

The issue then becomes; who do you want carrying & kicking the ball from stoppages if not Fisher? Cripps gets too much attention and Dow is burning the footy every time. Surely not Ed. The days of Murphy doing it are done.

I know Fisher forward would be very handy, but if anything it's Dow that has to go forward.

Both had 20 disposals and 2 clangers. Fisher kicked it more, but had worse efficiency, 55% v 60%.
Dow had 6 clearances vs 2

Dow's disposal is already confidence-related. Have a feeling today's game will serve as a 'make or break' moment for him. Hope his mettle holds up.
I think that we might see Dow dropped to the VFL to work on a couple of things and to find some form and confidence. It could also be second year blues as well. I did so well last year, how can I live up to that standard!

I get the pain. I had to calm down for a bit after the game. But we need to be clear minded. I’d like the make the following points for consideration:

- I think I’m about the only poster on here who thought ‘finals’ this year. So the rest of us are angry about? Winning 4 games instead of 6-7 this year? REALLY?
- we have been in winning positions in every game. Slight improvements and / or better runs with injuries and wed be 3:1.
- SO many players have continued to show improvement. I’ll come back to Dow but he’s had 3/4 games with 20 possesions. Last year I think he had none. Walsh. Weiters! Jones. Cripps. SPS. McKay. Marchy looks great. Setters and MCG are good additions. It’s a huge number
- our midfield is just TOO young. Three third year players. Two second years. A first year. And Cripps and Murph. That’s it. Every midfield we come up against is more experienced. Even GC.
- we will continue to improve out of sight over the next twelve months.

Some ‘howevers’ are fair.
- Firstly selecting 4 key forwards was moronic. Like....WHAT?
- Gibbons cannot kick to save himself. Like it is truly dreadful and that experiment needs to end.
- Paddy dow’s kicking and decision making need SO much work. I’d keep playing him. His paces breaks him wide open. Just slow down and chip it son. Persist.

Overall in my view the trend is rapidly up. It really is. Anger has abated.

Main point: most here didn’t see finals. Still don’t. If you don’t truly see a huge number of guys improving you’re just being emotional. Some selection decisions are terrible. I don’t get them. That stuff needs to be fixed.

Keep the faith.
Happy to see im not alone.

Not arguing that. But he has enough runs on the board that you give the guy at least 6 continuous games before you send him back to the VFL to find form. Anything else is a massive over reaction and frankly juvenile.
JLT and rnd 1 and 2 and all the same issues. Not switched on, fumbling and wish of all no effort and soft as butter. Gets injured, comes back and same rubbish and just dumb brain fades.

Getting a game on reputation, not form. Liability on all fronts at the moment

FFS. Surely this sort of ineptitude is the whole coaching staff. Poor skills, poor to no game plan on any line, no adjustment to opposition changes.
When's the coaching rebuild start?

Cant all be sheeted home to Bolts although he takes the Lion's share of responsibility. There shouldn't have been a spare centimetre of space inside D50 in that last minute. Forward set up was dysfunctional as usual and Crippa was the only four quarter midfielder. What's the answer? Why is this happening?

I was at the game and my feeling at half-time was that the players seem to be lacking a real will to win. I think the confidence is completely shot and that’s the most disheartening aspect. I wasn’t angry afterwards but definitely hurting. It was mainly sadness watching them struggle with confidence. I fear that confidence may not come until we bring in a few older players in the off-season but I’m hoping like hell Kreuzer’s return and attitude lifts the team.

I don’t think Bolton’s game was bad at all. Kudos to him for controlling the defence so well. He did a good job keeping Witts out of the game for periods. Lacking confidence and killer instinct means that players hesitate, shank kicks, miss goals, make poor decisions, drop marks. On top of that, it definitely effects effort and will. All things that resemble us.

Had we won, I’d be feeling a little better, but only a little. There was no hiding from the ordinariness of our performance.

This one hurts a lot, but it’s sadness more than anger. I hope we can tempt a couple of very good players across in the off-season. Things will turn quickly when we can sort things out upstairs.

I feel for the coach more than anyone bc he fronts up and cops the heat for our players poor form.

There is a part of me clinging to the hope that this loss might actually relieve the pressure and release the shackles a bit ... in a ‘can’t get any worse’ kind of way.

Ed should’ve iced that in the end.
Paddy Dow’s disposal won’t change and it’s a big problem going fwd.
Said it last week O’Brien needs a long long time in the twos.
Very disappointed to lose but more disappointed in the manner we lost, it was very clear who had the superior talent but the decision making is truly woeful.
I don't understand why there wasn't anyone on the goal line. Surely someone had to be there.

Gibbons one out multiple times in the goal square is unforgiveable.

Especially when you play 4 KPFs.

and 4 KPDs.

Setterfield needs a spell to gain confidence and get into some touch. Really rusty and poor decisions. Ditto Dow.

Cripps and Walsh are amazingly good. Loved Weitering and Jones too.

Kennedy needs to come in, perhaps for Casboult.

My spirit is broken, at least for tonight. I feel like crying. I really hope we can get a win soon.

Rant over.

Kruezer plays today we win, that's a (sugar coated) fact

I keep harping on about this but 15 seconds of footy should condemn the team from Heroes to Villains.

I also think the current game plan is the way to go, the more the boys use it and get used it, the better they will adept to it (skill wise especially)

Our boys are not that far off, we have to make allowances for their youth and relative inexperience.
