I think Atkins going into the middle at the start of the quarter was huge.

We made a couple of significant positional changes to start that quarter

Obviously Henry off the bench as sub & into the forward line

Smith then moved from the forward line to the wing, and in turn Holmes moved from that wing to the guts

All moves paid off

That is why they drop them ahead of a game with bottom team. Always give them a chance to find form

Whenever we’ve faltered in the opening rounds, we’ve often kick-started things with a blitzkreig like this (the Eagles and Richmond games in early 2021 spring to mind). We actually looked solid for periods of the Pies and Blues games - it’s just a matter of starting to piece things together more consistently.
