Whoever says this was undeserved stick it up your cabboose considering what we have been going through after losing so many we fought to regain that winning feeling well done

Really impressed with West tonight again. He is a toiler but he gets the job done. A great pickup and I reckon he will keep improving. Maybe no superstar but does his job really honestly.
Yep. Getting a few votes in the MVP thread too.

He's a different player to Hudson but he's bringing that same workmanlike performance to the ruck in Leuey's absence.

Some of his contested marking was first class.

Adcock, Patfull, Merrett, and Redden all stepped up today and played well. Adcock in particular really stepped up as captain. Rainesy had a real crack in his 1st game for the year as well:thumbsu:

Adcock's last two games have been great captain's games and looks to be growing in the role. He was a rock for us tonight.

Lots of blokes stood up tonight. Gritty performance to hold on.

25 touches, 8 marks, 4 tackles and a goal for Aish.

What a difference senior players coming back (and standing up) makes.

I said something very similar after round 10 in 2001. I was right then, can't see why you would not be this time round.

Dom, just make sure you never post a picture of a fat lady.

That was a terrific first half from Raines. He faded a bit toward the end but the effort was there.

Zorko with high 20s disposals and 12 tackles Aish with 25 touches. taylor with two goals. i could go on. Everyone tried their guts out! we are still raw in terms of skill but the passion is certainly back! come on lions!!!!!

Yeah, really think he deserves to hold his place, worked very hard.

His kicking is still poor but I think he makes up for it with effort and experience.

Unsure on Polks, did a few good things but didn't stand out.

If Aish misses out on the rising star nomination I'll get a truck of manure dumped into AFL house.

Also for a bloke who didn't seem all that convincing when he joined, West was huge.

Now we look to Sydney in two separate ways.

Firstly, we hope they beat Melbourne tomorrow 140-40 or some such manner so that we are lifted off the bottom of the ladder.
Secondly, we exploit their resultant arrogance the next week and destroy them at the Gabbaseum.

A flawless plan.

Finally aish had a big breakout game. will be the round 6 rising star nomination for sure. very excited about his future

Just great to get on the board!!! Darcy Gardiner is the bloke I like the most from our new draftees, he is going to be an absolute jet. Aish was outstanding, still trying to equate him to another footballer, just not sure who yet. Robertson is just tough as nails, he is a winner of the footy, I reckon we have an upgraded Colin Sylvia at his best in him. Tom Cutler has a lot of Marty Mattner about him. Let's hope we have a premiership rebounding defender in him one day!!!
