We continue to evolve. Really pleased to beat this mob while we are clearly going through a roughish patch of progress. While most people have been hammering our negatives, our positives are also evolving.

We are close, and have years of clean air ahead of us to continue getting better as a list and a Club. The win was needed though for the immediate. Good stuff.

Our stars, Weitering, Walsh and Harry were, and are, on fire. Saad has impressed me so much. A true professional and gun. Watching him play well and compete while hobbled the last few weeks was showing how it's done as a pro. Then today, i looked for the bandage and when it wasn't there i knew * were in trouble. Doc was good today. No errors. He's getting his footy legs under him again.

I like Stocker and Parks in the side. Cottrell gives us something as an honest battler. Owies a good debut. Pitt i would keep in along with TDK.

Murphy out, with Levi, Newnes and Gibbons to weed out. We're working things through and our future is solid.

Just got a feeling that that last 30 mins could be the head clearer that Crippa needs too. He's human and is going through a down patch, culminating in that embarrassing left foot shemozzle. The timing was perfect right on the bell for 3 QT. He regrouped and had a good last Q as i expected and his mates got him a win. Just reckon it might be the confidence turn around that sportsmen need now and then. Footy can be about moments.

Finally played a decent 4 quarters.

More goals than behinds and no scores.

Still a few things to tune up and next week will tell if we have turned a corner.

Great win. Will enjoy this week. Well done Blues.
First quarter and a half was pretty average.

Could he be the midfielder we recruited Williams to be.
Needs to play the same role moving forward.
As I mentioned very early this morning, He is not an amazing reader of play. He needs to be in amongst it (on ball) and he will be damaging his composure and skills are ahead of all our other on ballers.

Potential ins for next week.

Setterfield, TDK, Newman, O'Brien's, Williams, Murphy

Depth building
Oh god no.

Setterfield... either comes in for Cripps or is the medical emergency sub.
TDK... I reckon he's two weeks off being a chance for the senior squad... and the club agrees. They've said he needs a couple more weeks.
Newman... the club has guestimated that he's about a month off. He was very rusty in the VFL today. I agree with the club.
LOB... he's a week off getting back to where he was confidence wise in 2019.
Williams... in for Newnes.
Murphy... nope. Owies proved we don't need him ATM. Put him in an emergency box, break open if needed.

The only way LOB comes in is if Dow has a fractured cheek and then it's Williams for Dow, LOB for Newnes.

And you forgot the most prominant in for next week. Honey for Gibbons.

Parks and stocker, hats off, it’s nice seeing guys who play hard and hard at the ball

Dow was played at the middle....funny he’she’s better when played at his natural position, same for sps and cunners

cas, staying but not offering much, even when tdk is back he’s taking pitts position

gov, newnes and gibbons out

Williams sos and setters in

Luke Parks now owns a back pocket. Good luck getting it off home. He is a junkyard dog and rocketing up to being one of my favourites.
SPS and Cunners. Who woulda thought that playing in the middle would work.
Walsh enough said.
Harry ditto

When Zac Williams comes back in next week for Newnes you put him on the back flank and do what he does best.
And after watching the ressies I would have no issue seeing Honey in for McGovern.

Go blues
I think jack has that sown up

I am reading that Bombers won centre clearances 21-13. Against better teams this is deadly. We need to improve if want a chance in the next 2 games. I also think we turned it over a lot in the first half. So clearences, defensive midfield work and better kicking are priorities.

Special credit to Walsh, Saad and Weiters who stood up the first quarter and a half when all else around them fell apart.

Walsh is just taking the piss out of the rest of the competition at this point and it’s a delight to see.

Eddie has had a terrible season so far but we’ll and truly justified his selection today, hats off to him. Ed Curnow’s second half was immense.

if Teague has learned anything today please let it be that Cuners and SPS need to be around the ball.

Sam Walsh is the best player to play for Carlton since Judd’s Brownlow year

Saad really had a day out against his former side.......that’s what we recruited him for

Ed curnow played a bloody tough contested game

McKay really stood up when his moments arrived

Betts and owies...3 each

Wieters bossed it again

Crippa, hopefully the last quarter was a springboard because he had a shocking first 3

Stocker and Parks were very very good back there. So happy we beat this scum

he led into space much more today, that is ,unless levi was there to F things up for him
Both of them got a couple of nice frees for jumper pulling because the * defenders on them were slow or just useless.

Still lots of work to do

2nd half, much better tempo, Teague learn from this

Walsh is becoming unstoppable

Weits still on track for AA

Cuners finally spending more time around the ball, penny dropped for him and MC

Saad gutsy, was really good early

Doc better with Parks in the side, Parks is so underrated

Drop Gibbo? Nah

Cotts still worries me, but so good defensively

Yeap, Levi still good for structure

Never ever drop SPS, ever

H, love when you hit up hard

Cripps stayed patient
Gibbo has to go. He was horrendous today.

Going by the comments on the gameday thread and to a lesser extent here, it seems some of our 'supporters' have very short memories and are as flakey as f***!!!

He carried this club since he basically arrived. He has a poor patch and people are "over him", "sick of him", want to trade him for a packet of chips, drop him to the VFL, question his motivation, loyalty and character!!

The behaviour towards any player not to the armchair expert's 'standards' is disgusting in here.
Criticise constructively yes, but the speed in which some of you turn on players (let alone our captain) with vitriol and hate, continues to amaze me, but in reality you're just an online version of those mugs in their groups at matches, who put shit on every player for any reason real or imagined.
Except at least they have the guts to do it in public!

Crippa, if reading this board, would no doubt be feeling the appreciation, love and loyalty of a small demographic of the supporters of the Carlton Football Club.
These are the people you want to play for, the ones who stick by you as you have many credits in the bank.
Nah but the nuffies say, "had enough, liability, get him out!!".

Pathetic really

The people fans and media who think Walsh has gone past Cripps, I hope they realise Walsh only gets the freedom because the opposition put all their attention on Cripps. Walsh is a star, but don’t undersell the importance of Cripps to the way he plays.

Nice to win, sluggish start but a good second half. Walsh. is...........special. Harry becoming a big presence. I really like Parks but my dreams came true when Cripps managed to finally kick a goal. I am going to veer away from some other posters and congratulate Essendon. I think they have some fine young players.

SPS - Bizarre decision to make him the sub, but was fantastic when he came on.

Cuningham - Loves playing this mob, looks confident and very good in the midfield. Keep him in there.

Saad - No real impact after half time, but he was fantastic early. Gives everything he's got every single time.

McGovern - Thought he was very reasonable, fu** injuries. Hope it's not too serious but didn't look great.

DC really needs to follow up on this his second breakout game. if he goes back into his shell again , like last time, I doubt we will be as patient with him again
