Going down soon to stand on the concourse behind the cheer squad for the rest of the game. 3 rows from the top atm.
Essendon have a ridiculous policy where every member has a reserved seat, even on level 3. Creates this facial situation where both wings are basically empty and all the fans that made an effort to show up get packed in like sardines behind the goals.

It's rubbish. I won't be coming next year if they have another home game against us

I understand the general happiness over players like Daw, McKenzie and Wood having great games.

But they are playing against a pretty bad outfit. VFL quality. I would temper expectations as Arjen said, until they play against a team that actually wants to be there.

They are doing what we want them to do, and the only concern is if any of them drop off after HT imo.

Absolutely. Their form showcases the tools they have though. Bmac can kick with the best of them and is now a more well rounded player, Daw's repeat efforts on the ground are great, and Wood is capable of great marking and tackling as well as general kicking. For me it's really reassuring because it confirms to me that they are CAPABLE of this kind of form and worthy of holding onto unless we can get a prized youngster or a player who showcases the same quality regularly and against better opposition.

For mine Bmac has overtaken Mullet significantly and is laying claim to Dal's spot.
Daw is showing that if he were to replace Waite or Drew in the future then he can do a decent job as a KPF as well as applying good pressure and being a better ruck option than Brown.
Wood is showing he's the future. Can kick, can mark, can tackle, and has a tank. IMO we can keep him in the team even with 3 talls and Goldy right now.

Nek year it be fully ticketed because they will all give a shit again.

Fair point and am sure people understand all that. The Daw issue is more than him getting a game, plenty have questioned his value to be on not only our list but any list. And for a long time now I've disagreed with the majority of the dills. Of course he's good enough and playing some fine footy for a seventeen gamer.

Loving Woods/ BMac's work too. These are the games that guys find the belief that they can compete at this level, don't under value that.

No absolutely. This is not undervaluing this for any of them, of course McKenzie is going to get immense amounts of confidence from this and Daw will think he's had a great day out, which he has.

But McKenzie is bringing it out under no pressure. Majak is taking marks against James Kelly. Wood is doing what he likes. Those three are doing exactly what is expected of them. It would just be interesting to see if they are capable of it against Geelong when the chips are down, or Sydney in the driving rain, or Hawthorn when it's hot in the kitchen.

His clearance work, tackling and contested ball will far outweigh a couple of fumbles in finals.
I'm not so sure about that. If his role is focussed on tackling and getting the hardball and hand balling to a team mate from the packs then I'm a huge fan. It's when he's in space in the backline or transition in the middle that he scares me. Both are places where the opposition can make you pay dearly for a **** up.

All that said he SHOULD improve his ball handling as the year goes on (but it is a worry that it is still this way atm). Wait and see for me. For mine he is the weakest of Cunnington, Jack and himself. I think Dumont might be capable of taking his spot. Not sure if thats a good thing though. You want your captain and one of your most experienced players playing in finals.

Problem for another day though, back to the game :)
