Geez, the Roos must have won the lotto with amount of players they're meant to be chasing already. Better get in early if your a wanted player or you might only get bottom dollar. :D
footy clubs these days have to realise if u want the players 2 come
you hav to spend the coin, its sad but thats the way it is this day and age. good on da roos if they if they get da players they spent da money with A.james and that helped romsey done it and it helped them big time so did lancefield if they say different the r lying all you have to do is go out and get good sponsers and a little help from da locals just go out and ask for the sponsers the worst thing they will say is no, big deal if they do go to the next one. even wouldnt hurt
if a few players giv the clubs a chop out and go ask for sponsers.
:thumbsu: hav a go roos see ya in 2010

who's gunna coach? would b sad 2 see peddo go if they go that way good coach with a lot of meaning in what he says if they listen.

Peddo will be steering the Magpie ship again in 2010 :thumbsu:

Glen Hopkins to coach Diggers Rest in 2010, with a large focus on splashing some coin at Rupertswoods premiership players.

Just heard D Goodwin won Macedons b&f last night. Can someone confirm plus placings. Woodends next week. Wallan must have a big wad of cash to spend again this year, but will they do it any wiser?[/quote

wallan will be the benchmark next year with 7 or 8 GUNS coming onboard. could have been 9 but one of our big targets is going to kilmore due to a home renovation agreement.expect all the officials at the blues weeding aron jameses house and mowing lawns as per their arrangement:eek:

There will be no one Kilmore Football Netball Club providing weeding etc, even we could get Fev by doing it.

What about if the "ing" was removed . . . . reckon there'd be a few lads that would consider it then :D

"Just say no" Doona!
With some of the stuff I've heard already I'd reckon we're flag favourites if you believe it, in fact just give us the cup now! :D

Getting Rupo players to leave is almost like drawing blood from a stone. Would be surprised to see any end up at diggers.

Serge at Sunbury is so busy lining the Rupo boys up for interviews they wouldn't have time to talk to Diggers. My mail is that he may have to seriously consider a combination jumper with the number of ex Rupo boys he has over there. If the coin wont get them then you may have to ask why? Might actually be something in playing for your mates and the jumper rather than a fist full of dollars which you take most of back anyway. Have any other clubs actually considered the Rupo model of developing their kids and actually looking after them? RDFL and BFL teams are struggling to put a single 18s on the track and these guys have two under 19s. My mail is that Rupo's team for the past three senior premiership apperances. (3 of the last 4 seasons) have had 21, 21 and 20 of the 22 players through their junior program. Earning premierships by being prepared to do the hard work and develop from within is much more satisfying than any chequebook flag. Try it, you may get a pleasant surprise.

talking to a very important man at broadford the other day and this is fact:confused: can you confirm doona the dunn boys playing back at the ROOS :thumbsu:if so very good get they will love our league hope its true :footy:

Yeah, its so much easier to create a team outside of the cheque book when you poach players at junior level and parade them about as your own...

Instead of coming into this thread and trolling, how about you head back to the VAFA thread and blow your trumpet, the Kangaroos have tried to get praccy matches with Rupo, but they are happy to patrol D1 in search of flags... As a local club that develops through the junior program, this could be a reason you cant get past the D1 section..

Well said IMS :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Some news just in via pigeon carrier in Mount Isa.

Garry Moorcroft WILL NOT be playing at Romsey in 2010.

Asked for $2000 to play in the grand final for the Redbacks and understandably the club was not at all happy. He only stayed with the boys until 8pm on GF night as well and didn't join in on mad Monday celebrations.

The $2K thing sounded ridiculous to me when I first heard but since then two club officials have confirmed it.

Secondly, big Al Meldrum, after coaching the Heathcote Saints to this year's HDFL premiership, is all but signed, sealed and delivered as an assistant coach at the Cattery for 2010.

Brendan Lee will remain in the top job, but the Cats have brought in the perfect cover should results not go as expected early in the season. That is unlikely to happen though as the bank account is overflowing at Tony Clarke Oval and they are looking to bring in the cavalry to ensure they go a few steps better next season.

Been told a ranga from Heathcote is in the mix to make the shift, but gun red-headed ruckman/forward Lech Featherstone is likely to play in Melbourne next year, leaving Matt Waters or Tom Tobin as the likely candidates. Both handy footballers.

The usual suspect in James Climas is also being scouted, although the price may be a little high for the Cats. However, they'll have to be quick. Sunbury Kangaroos offered $2000 sign-on plus $400 per game and Riddell $1000 and $300 per game.

Speaking of Robbos, former Kilmore star and Matt Nicholls hero Matt Robertson is being chased heavily by Broadford for season 2010. The Roos are also looking at securing former Assumption star forward Maddison Hardiman.

Tom Waters has once again been offered extremely good money by several big league clubs and will be hard to keep a hold of. Expect a few players from the Tigers' premiership team to be gone next year through retirement or other circumstances, but I believe they are trying to lure Shane Page from Kyneton (very rough hope of being drafted).

You would imagine Page would try and have a crack at VFL, most likely through Bendigo or Coburg next year, but I think if he doesn't, Lancefield are in the lead for his services.

That's all for now, pigeon couldn't carry much mail this time.

That doesnt suprise me about Gary not a team man only playing footy for the coin, as lve said earlier will be at Balwyn next year.

Think you may have actually missed the point. Think we all need to be concentrating on developing the kids rather than the dollars. Re practice matches you need to talk to the right people. Re poaching - have you had a look at how many ex Rupo blokes you have had on the field in the last few years?

Unsure who you refer to as being "very important" there connalinko, but there's been plenty of talk on the Bonnie Doon connection coming home. Still waiting on an announcement on who ur coach will be, but talk along High Street says a Bonnie Doon premiership player and a GVFL premiership ruckman are interested in the job which would result in a few players coming to the club. Another rumoured candidate may be a former Cheatley Medallist and HDFL premiership player, but until applications are lodged and closed purely all hearsay.

.

Who's doing the apparent chasing Pickles? I work with a member of the executive who has no idea what your on about  Maddison played juniors at Broadford but played more of his footy in Kilmore after that so you best rip that pigeon's head off coz it aint too reliable.
