I'm unfamiliar with keto despite having heard the word plenty of times.

What's a day on your plate look like?

That's a great effort mate! I knocked 6kgs off late last year cycling and being more food conscious, and cutting out the M-T beers. Also started buying Single Fins and stopped grabbing the big crazy craft cans which seemed to help immensely.

All said and done after Xmas I'm 1kg up but haven't been training at all. Gonna pull my finger out in Feb and get back into it.

Breakfast: black coffee

Morning tea: keto gummy

Lunch: protein shake with coconut oil

Afternoon tea: keto gummy

Dinner: tuna steak, cauliflower rice fried in coconut oil, avocado

That's pretty extreme though for the weight loss. Now I'm nearing my goal and hitting my workout straps afternoon tea will be more substantial. Plus I've always intermittent fasted whatever I'm doing, I feel more alert on an empty stomach.

Breakfast: long macchiato, two slices of protein bread(toast) with vegemite, one raw egg.

Morning tea: greek yoghurt with blueberries. 2nd long macchiato.

Lunch: chicken salad roll, protein shake.

Afternoon tea: 3rd long mach.

Early evening: 3-4 beers

Dinner: Chicken curry, or similar

Pre-bedtime: 4 weet-bix with blueberries

Who can tell me where I might be going wrong?

Making my mouth water.

Convert the chicken salad roll into a chicken salad. If you're having a protein shake on top of that you don't need the bread. I would even question the point of the protein shake if it's not a training day.

Don't eat after your dinner. If you have to, move the protein shake from lunch to your post dinner snack. There's great flavours available to be a healthy sweet treat these days. Sometimes I'll mix a scoop through a few tablespoons of Greek yoghurt.

The biggest change will come from kicking the beers. Go ham on Friday and Saturday night but give em the boot Mon to Thurs. Easiest way to do this is to be exercising. There's no better way to avoid the Froffs than going to all of the effort to carve out an exercise window when you have kids, then punishing yourself for an hour or so, realising how much the stars need to align for you to be able to get a sweat up and then want to cling onto those benefits like mad, and not undo them immediately with 500+ calories of mid week tinnies.

Ham, you say? Interesting swap out for the beers.

You having daily snacks at all is what gets me.

Then again you're all better than my father who, when left to make his own lunch, will take a tub of ice cream, a bag of chips and a bottle of sugar free soft drink to his recliner.

Sugar free soft drink? Sounds like he’s watching his weight

I'm not a big Labor man, but common sense prevails. They're going to get smashed for it but the voting public will largely benefit. Those who don't make up the minority and probably vote Liberal anyway.

I think I’m yet to see anyone say “I’m in the group of under-$150k earners who will benefit from this but this is an outrageous breach of trust”.

The outrage seems to be coming solely from people on big salaries who’ll now get slightly less of a tax cut than they were going to get.

Which makes the Libs’ announcement that they’ll reverse Albo’s reversal even more baffling. So you’re going to make everyone on $150k or less pay more tax? And you think that’ll be a popular decision?

Wife and I accidentally decided to basically stop drinking soft drink about 2-3 weeks ago. Have had the occasional drink but are only drinking water

Aren’t missing it at all
