My favorite player as a kid was Duck.

I am unable to accurately express how much I would have loved to have seen the stars of the 70's at Arden St.

To be a North Melbourne Supporter in 75 must have been immeasurable joy.

I was a bit too young for 75, clearly remember 77 though on TV in COLOUR...and went to the 1978 loss...and bawled all the way down the Olympic Stand.

The 90's were just as great though.

Actually, that game last year against Carlton was the first time in a decade that I felt as good as it was to go to a game in the 1990's.

Hope to feel that excitement more in 2013!

I remember something along those lines....I was a little confused as to whether or not it was an injury.

My recollection was that S Anderson had played well enough early in the 96 finals series but then got an injury that had him at 50/50?

I dont think he did all that much in the GF....5 disposals, and the QF didnt look that impressive either with 6 disposals

V

Armstrong

..whose form appears to have dropped off the past month of the year.

Yep, looks like one of them hard luck GF stories....

Anderson did his hamstring early in the 2nd term against Geelong.

I'd have to check the prelim but from memory Armstrong was very quiet.

Classy effort after being dropped.

My NMFC loving wife has only been a convert since 2008. After that game I said to her that the feeling after that game is what it used to feel like after the footy often. It was unlike any she had experienced before.

There was the definite buzz of expectation after that game.

It tells me that we are going to see some great footy this year. We may have a harder draw but when we win there is going to be some decent excitement about it.

I remember when I asked my mum to iron-on Fruity's number to my Auskick jumper, only to have her stuff it up leaving me with Anthony Rock's number for a whole year...but that's okay he was good too!

Remember when Leigh Harding kicked 6 against the Cats in 2002! (on that note i did not know he left to join Brisbane as a development coach). Still pissed at him for missing that goal in 2005 against WC from the goal square. I flew all the way from Perth to watch that too!

Remember when John Longmire went into round 22 of 1990 needing 4 goals the bring up the ton and kicked 2 goals 8.:(
My dad drove me 2 1/2 hours to Melbourne so that i could run on the field... not a great day, though not as bad as the day Lloyd kicked his hundred and i walked out as everyone ran on the field.

Was that the same year as he (horse) kicked 14 against Melbourne??? Have the photo up at home of me and my Melbourne supporting mum (RIP) at that game.

I traveled 5 mins up the road to that one Digga. Still bloody disappointing. So many shots.

And 12 against Richmond.

I was sitting in a car at a local match when Winnie took that hanger @Manuka listening on the radio

Remember when you weren't nervous before a blockbuster game but excited and quietly confident?

I remember being at the G when Mick was the purple headed warrior and the stands were full and the sun was down

God I want to feel that again.

If you have not felt it then you do not know, it cannot be described it must be felt.

NMFC are running out and we are going to win. Not if, not maybe, or perhaps on our day we can, f*** it we will take all comers.

This is how I remember the 90's through my Blue and White glasses.

Remember when David Trotter was spoken of as a future captain by the coach who drafted him?

Remember when Leigh Brown was told by the coach he would never play in blue and white stripes again and was back in the team round 1 of the next year?

Remember when the same coach gave up two first round draft picks for Jon Hay?

Remember when that coach drafted Lance Picioane, Cameron Thurley and Shane Harvey?

Remember when that coach was being questioned on radio why he chose Shane Harvey over Aaron Davey and his statement was "The proof will be in the pudding?"

Remember when Joel Perry was dropped after a 1 point loss to Brisbane for not and I quote "not being excited enough about playing AFL footy" and was never played again despite looking like a future prospect in the games he played

Remember when the coach traded to get Corey McKernan back to the club?

Remember when said coach had a spat with Daniel Harris for not signing a contract and didn't speak to him for half a season?

Remember when David Bourke got a senior game?

Remember when we kicked 5 goals in the first quarter against the Hawks in 2006 and didn't kick another for the game?

Remember when this same coach offered up Hamish McIntosh and Corey Jones for trade TO THE MEDIA?

Remember when John Baird stopped being played for no reason?

My God I am glad those years a long gone.

I remember going to games with confidence .......... especially on a Friday night game.
So many games in the 90s we went in as overwhelming favorites and many times we were behind till a burst of goals would get us a across the line.
The team never knew when they were beaten.

Everybody else is doing it.

Remember throwing coins at the Hyde st band at the Western Oval as the sound system (could be overstating it may have been a cone speaker with some worn out wire) played the Hungry Jacks "fresh for you.....fresh" again and again as someone had forgotten to press stop on the tape.
Ah suburban footy in the early nineties.
