B: Tom Langdon, Nathan Brown, Marley Williams
HB: Alan Toovey, Jack Frost, Brayden Maynard

So where was the run and clean deliver from halfback?

Langdin and Maynard are only Descent Kicks there.

Brown is the worst kicks in the AFL

Would we been any better with White?
Yep. It would have been another option. But Buckley was just too arrogant and decided to drop him.

What was the assessment of today's game, on red for ed??......hopefully Shaw said l don't think Buckleys the coach for this side.

Shaw would done no worse as coach as bucks did today

Explain to me this, you drop white ( which i agree with ) but then u promote seedsman and make elliott the sub? Surely we had to bolster our forward line and not diminish it even more than we had to.
Seedsman, if u want to play him ( hes terrible ) would be better as the sub as he could run free when the pace is out of the game.
Then in the last half we allowed melbourne to play a loose behind the ball and reverse the roles from the previous encounter this year when we use oxley as the loose man.
Kick outs, why the fk is langdon allowed to kick out, he is terrible at it, his loopy kicks almost always get spoiled.
U play 2 rucks which im ok with, but when they play forward they have to be the deepest forward, not 40m out from goal.
Kicking skills are deplorable
That was a truly baffling choice.

that was one of the most disjointed collingwood performances ive ever seen.. so much so that i actually found it entertaining.

You're lucky then because I've seen far worse, over many decades. It happens.

The non selection of Reid is easy to explain. The selection panel know the players very well and on their information, finals was a pipe dream as early as two weeks ago when Cloke and Elliot we're going to miss more than one week. No use brining in Reid when he's most likely not up to the intensity. Regardless of what people think, VFL is shit footy and not close enough to senior footy.
Elliot was a week away but selected this week and was always going to be in the vest.
As for Buckley, not sure that any coach could have conjured a win out of that, even against Melbourne. The problem is with selection. White had to play, Seedsman shouldnt have had a look in. IMO Bucks has decisions to make.
1) shoot to win games and make finals
2) get games into those due to debut next season and risk embarrassing losses
3) make the tough call on a few players
4) get over his love of midfielders and trade in talent for the bookends. Throwing massive dollars at Treloar just kills me.
5) make the call on himself. Change selection philosophy or fall on his own sword.

FAz wasn't bad, seed useless.
Surely seedsman has played his last senior game for Collingwood.

Beyond angry with that insipid display. I can't rationalise it at all. That was Robbos' Doomsday Scenario unfolding in front of us at the MCG today.

I'm normally a big supporter of Buckley, but he has to carry the can for that. He selected the composition of the side and he coached the team. Realistically, we could reasonably expect better on-field performances if we replaced Buckley with Dale Tapping as our interim coach; he at least seems to know how to mould and mentor a team and has some coaching nous about him.

I'm beyond despair this evening for the future of my beloved footy club.

serious question...how is he tracking well re a premiership?

I would say good. There is no way we were going to win the flag this year. But the 8-3 made us all think we are ahead of schedule. Losing games hurt and to sides like Melbourne it hurts even more. But in the big picture we are going in the right direction

Actually on the park today we were
Age 23.9 vs 24.9
and average games played 73.9 for us and 90.3

so tf u on about
Also just add on to this ridiculous statistic is hawks on friday night apparantly played with a team average of 150 games.. thats double ours.. and you lot are calling for buckles head.. just a joke haha

Still think there's good times ahead but that doesn't excuse today's performance. We've been quite quite bad since that hawthorn game.

I'd be interested to know how VFL watchers thought Scharenberg went. Didn't notice him too much tbh but stats say 16 touches which seems like an ok effort
Personally would selected Marsh as he has a more afl ready body, but thought that Scharenberg played ok. Lack of leg speed was more noticeable and he struggled a bit with the step up in pace in that at times where in the vfl he'd find space to kick he instead was a bit cluttered and was forced to handball. Like all players he'll be better for the run.

we are not as close as we may think.. full back.. centre half back.. centre half forward.. we have moore a developing player.. and 2 of the lowest possession getters at chb and fb in the league who contribute sweet f,,, all coming out of defence. brown and frost both need to be replaced.

Totally flat after that display, one of the worst performances I've seen form collingwood for quite some time.
Pea hearted effort from most players on the field, disposal quality was vfl standard at best, questions need to asked of a lot of the players on this performance.
