Because he and his wife prefer living in Adelaide & he's a Port man would be two reasons.

The Dockers couldn't get him stay long term either as a player or an assistant coach.

This is his second stint as an assistant at Port, he coached North Adelaide after his first go around then went to Freo & returned.

That being said if old mate Hinkles gets a 2 year ext. with triggers he'll probably go.. hold me
I'm sure a lot of senior coaches preferred living elsewhere over the journey. I reckon you could put up with it for a crack at a senior gig. Nothing is permanent.

I can't see him knocking back a job at Richmond for a potential job at Port 2 years down the track which sounds messy.

Our performances at the end of games has to just a huge boost for Mini, what a turn around under him.

5 close games and in the final 5 minutes we've kicked 9 goals to 1. In fact since that Giants goal to put them up by 6 points we've kicked 9 goals to 0 in the final 5 of our close games.

Thank you to that Giants Ruck who kicked that goal, because it kickstarted something. In the 4 close games since, we haven't conceded a goal past the 5 min mark of the 4th and kicked 13 goals ourselves past the 5 min mark.

Freo: Last goal 4 mins into the last quarter
Saints: 0 goals in the last quarter
Swans: Last goal 5 mins into last quarter
Hawks: 0 goals in the last quarter

Its the classic Richmond slow start, work our way back into the game slowly and then the stranglehold until the team finally buckles. In the past that break happened sometime in the 3rd quarter which was much less stressful than the final 2 minutes, but a wins a win.
Don't get me wrong, it's great that the trend has changed.

But who's driving the change??
Wasn't heir media reports that Prestia had been driving change at training to correct end of game scenarios?

Real world beaters there and I can see they will all be challenging for the 2023 Premiership.lol.
Stop aiming low and look above towards the sky and see the light.
Facts were TI with same side in with Dimma we were losing ea week
EG swans 44pts , most learned judges saw a bottom 4 finish after he pulled the plug
Under mini our players are playing their best footy again

Why would he wait two years for a senior gig when he can have one in 2 months' time though?
Not saying carr definetly wouldn't take the richmond job, it would be a great job to take but his wife wants to stay in Adelaide, and is not keen on moving again so if he has the choice of the tigers or a succession plan I'm thinking he will wait the extra time and take the port job.

these opportunities are rare. hinkley will get three years. carr won't sit on his hands for three years.

Spot on why would you sit around for 2-3 years, when an opportunity is on the table now.

I take it with a grain of salt as the panels only just been installed, I’ve heard with source being insiders that josh carr is fav , I suspect prob Chinese whispers , someone that we’re quite interested in is red hot fav
What source tomato, BBQ, or club lol

Stays at the club he loves, keeps the wife happy & gets to coach the best young midfield in Australia.. no brainer.

She sounds lovely and supportive then. Way to get in the way of him chasing his dreams for the sake of an hour flight

Prestia did take a session on structures and strategy for the close finish. Great leadership.
Don’t assume he came up with the structures and strategies on his own though.
He was great at really leading the charge to get it right.

Can keep his wife happy regardless I would assume. If port sign Kenny up for 2-3 years then it’s possible Carr could leave. All talk at the moment anyhow.

Ok that clarifies Carr's position no end.

If your wife doesn't want to move from somewhere, it is time to remove her from that place. Richmond a good place for Coaches to come to save their marriages, Dimma got 10 years extra out of his after coming to Richmond. :)

Someone needs to put a tail on Carr's missus.

Does Mrs Carr work I am sure the same job is available in Melbourne. If he is offered the job it’s his.

I'm surprised to hear that he loves us already without playing or coaching us yet, maybe he was a Richmond supporter growing up...

Well it sounds like it's settled, who's opening the "Welcome to Richmond: Josh Carr - Senior Coach" thread

Would be tempting to open that for the laughs, however better not ;)
