They certainly did'nt get the winning feeling at richmond thats for sure.....
Wallace's original team was Hawthorn.
So its only two.
A bit rough on Malthouse.......
They were a powerhouse in his era.
He was MOST unlucky to miss the GF in 1980.
Hafey's legacy continues..remember, he had Bartlett and Northey? Now..who coached Knights again in the first 5-7 years or so? Those 2.
He missed the 82 GF, not the 80 one. Hes a premiership player.
I call it the family tree of footy.
Look at the names Jeans, Kennedy, Barassi, Hafey.
Extrapolate to include the names of those they coached, who coached themselves. Just off the top of my head:
Hafey: Bartlett, Northey, Sheedy, Patterson, Jewell, Sproule, Erwin, Malthouse (and many more)
Then you look at that list and extrapolate further:
Sheedy: Thompson, Harvey, Merrett, Watson
Malthouse: Worsfold
Bartlett/Northey: Knights
there's plenty more I have missed I'm sure.
