Weather will not be a factor. Experience will not be a factor.

Injuries not a factor, both clubs missing critical players.

No excuses this year for either side. The best team on the day will win it and deserve the win. Can’t wait for first bounce.
There are never excuses anyway.

Danger game for GWS now that they are not being completely written off the way they were against the Dogs and
Collingwood. A mighty effort if they can do it from sixth and three finals on the road. They are pretty hungry for
it right now.

Not really the same imo. Essendon were clearly the best in 99 and 00, and finished top again in 01; whereas Adelaide were the best in 2017 but the tigers played them off the park in the GF. Last year Richmond were definitely the best but they weren't again this year. Essendon should have won two flags, whereas I think it's fair that Richmond only have one from the last two. That Essendon team didn't achieve as much as what they should have, as you say, but I think richmond's achievements are fair enough at this point.

Having said that, Brisbane won three in a row without finishing first once. The best finals teams aren't necessarily the best HA teams. Pressure, knockout, only 4 weeks so can push harder, potentially less travelling depending upon ladder position.
If you count finals in 2017 we won more games than the crows, remember we finished 2 points behind them in 3rd.
In 2018 if again you count finals we finished same number of wins as west coast.
In 2019 regardless what happens this weekend we will again finish with more wins than any other side.

Of course all means naught if you don’t win the flag however to suggest the crows were clearly the best team in 2017 with their advantage of 2 points is bs.

Lets not try to reinvent the wheel - all day wet slippery conditions favour big bodies, that's an established fact.
GWS will thrive in stoppages which due, to the conditions will increase, and then press home their advantage of strength around the ball.

Your guy will get ragged dolled - infact many of your supporters have been lamenting the size of your team as a vulnerability frequently during the year.
It's nothing new.

The only thing that beats GWS on a wet day like Saturday, will be fatigue from that taxing game.

yeah everyone knows once its wet you stick as many tall blokes in the side as possible.:oops::rolleyes:

Funny how the narrative has changed from 5 weeks ago when we could only beat the bigger bodied Eagls because it rained.

I think you’ve missed the point. Adelaide, Fred, West Coast were “created” to fill a demand. GWS / GC were created to make demand. They were given unreasonable concessions to ensure they had the opportunity to win a GF. GC messed up (partly because their facilities and support were so bad).
Again, GWS is a marketing exercise, not a football club.

Tell that to the boys who pull the jumper on week after week.

Apparently Ellis is going to the Gold Coast next year on a $3 million deal. Why would you want to go to that club.

Comedy will not change the FACTS.

But thanks for the response from the HEART - I'll take the STATS everyday to ensure no emotion.
Its clear you can't justify your claims of superiority based on the STATS.
The STATS don't lie.

stats dont win games or grand finals - stats lie all the time. in life and aussies rules football

ITs literally one of the most popular sayings, you rooster

You should have done some research before making outlandish claims.

The STATS don't lie - none of the players you listed are superior to their GWS opponents.

If the games were all decided on stats we'd be lucky to make the 8, we are the lowest possesion team in the comp,I think we only have 2 players who would average above 22 possesions.

Using one Stat is rubbish - it proves nothing.

Thankfully the Footywire analysis covers over 20 STATS - so its very comprehensive in proving none of the Rich players were superior to their GWS opponents, as the posters had embarrassingly suggested.

This has the potential to be a ripper. The Tiges have really upped the slick ball movement and surge game and it is devastating, and very exciting to watch. They have simultaneously shown grit in adversity and been able to survive heavy artillery waiting for oppo to counter attack.

Giants have shown great resilience and team defense, rugged inside fighting and not letting teams who are on top of them overrun them. They just need a qtr of free scoring and can drag the game into a hard battle for 3 qtrs and come out on top.

It may come down to freshness and coaching smarts, 2 areas where Tiges have the advantage imo. Though Giants seem to love being written off and proving pundits wrong.

I reckon Giants will get the job done in a close game, they have a determination and brutality about them that may be a tad too much for the Tiges.

But what do I know.

Yet despite those stats we had 3 more wins during the season and won the same fixture 2 months ago quite comfortably.

Why dont you compare these same stats from the last time the 2 teams met, you would find GWS' midfield had much better stats in that game yet they still lost quite comfortably by 27 points. How is this possible?

I’ve built a case disproving the posters assessment of the superiority some of your players against their GWS opponents.

It’s that simple - feel free do whatever other stats you want.

Only so many years you get to make money like that.

Too many people think finishing first after H&A makes you the best team that season.

It doesn’t.

Whoever wins the GF is the best team that season.

Still not sold on GWS at the MCG. Yeah, they beat Collingwood, but they almost did that in last years semi-final them, and they beat the Pies at the G in round 2 last year. Overall, their record at the ground has been awful. GWS home ground has completely different dimensions. They haven't even come close to beating Richmond at the G, although you could argue that's because Richmond are a hard team for anyone to beat there. Maybe it won't be a factor at all and if it barely has an impact on the result, then yeah, it could be a ripper. I don't think the Giants will be flat - the pressure and contested ball will be there, I'm sure.

It sets him up for life, a lot more security than what we can offer him. When he's 35 and can do whatever he wants and doesn't have to worry about money because he invested well and looked after himself. Secondly, it probably guarantees him a longer AFLcareer, for all he knows we could drop him to the VFL for the next 2 years as a depth player, that won't happen at GC.

They have won 4/19 whereas Richmond are 16/19 over the same number of games.

GC gave us 2 tremendous players to compliment our already good list.

Only fair we return the favour with players in Miles and Premiership hero Brandon Ellis.

Those 2 will hold Gold Coast in good stead going forward, and in the future.
