They have won 4/19 whereas Richmond are 16/19 over the same number of games.

That's what I mean. Tigers record is so good there, the Giants isn't, which I assume is because they struggle at the venue. They did play the G well in the prelim, though, but maybe that's just because the Pies style allows them to. I think the Giants will have trouble with Richmond's run and spread on the wings, like just about every other side does, I guess. I could be wrong, though. If GWS gets anywhere near the amount of ball the Lions had against the Tigers in round 23, then maybe the Giants will go close.

So how do we combat gws talls up forward. My guess we cut supply from there midfield we need to match them there, and apply pressure and tackle hard from our forward and midfield don't give them clean ball to deliver.Biggest mistake any club can do is take a few injuries or underdone players into such a big game a huge risk.

Big trouble for Rich if Wet. Ball is constantly dispute in the wet and consequently body size matters.

On the week end - Players 181cm or less

Rich - 9

GWS - 2
lol. Everybody after Richmond beat West Coast were saying that we only won because of the rain and the wet weather suits our team. Now all of a sudden if it rains it’s a disadvantage to us.

It sets him up for life, a lot more security than what we can offer him. When he's 35 and can do whatever he wants and doesn't have to worry about money because he invested well and looked after himself. Secondly, it probably guarantees him a longer AFLcareer, for all he knows we could drop him to the VFL for the next 2 years as a depth player, that won't happen at GC.
Also, this is a kid who was living in a Housing Commission flat when he was drafted. Being a whipping boy on social media probably hasn't been good for him either, so going to a team with bugger all fans may have its attractions.

Humble beginnings, premiership player, gives his all, he takes some of that Richmond winning culture up north and will make a bit of a difference. That's what will happen and good on him.

Big call for the Giants on Davis, surely he won't be 100%. Do you play Haynes on Lynch and then Davis on Riewoldt, given Riewoldt is slower these days. Big risk though.

Giants best chance to win this game is dominate contested ball, which they are capable of. I don't think we'll have the luxury of putting Dusty in the goalsquare much, would want Martin, Cotchin, Prestia at as many stoppages as possible.

That’s one of the most ridiculous stats I think I’ve ever seen

19 games at the MCG for us stretch all the way back to 2012
19 games at the MCG for Richmond stretches back to round 20 last year

how s#*t were we in 2012/13/14 etc?

We’ve won 2 of our last 3 (and 3 of our last 7) there.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics - and then there’s utter f#*#en rubbish.

Going to be some sort of slaughter on Saturday. Giants have been brave, but they’ve fluked their way thru the last 2 weeks. Could easily be 100+ if rich go hard to the end

Heard the same about the Dogs in 2016. They've defied the odds in their last two outings in hostile territory, not totally unreasonable to think they can do it a third time. I expect Richmond will win but it won't be a cakewalk

Whats peoples thoughts about GWS ability to run out 4 quarters against Richmond after 2 pretty hard games and the last in the wet , How much would that have taken out of them as they looked totally tanked in the last 20 minute

Will the Tigers have the Pies to thank pushing them to the last minute in the wet conditions

More nervous than 2017. 17 felt like a free hit as big underdogs, we had well exceeded everyone's expectations. This feels like the opposite and I really wouldn't be surprised if Giants get up with the fairytale ending.

Paranoid on AFL umpiring, even though deep down I don't really think it exists. Hoping for no ARC blunders that influence the result. If Giants win they have well and truly earned it with their finals run. I can lose to them easier to a Collingwood.

Ridiculously nervous and it's just going to get worse for the rest of the week.

For those Tigers worrying about the umpires, don’t. The Giants are last on the free kick differential this year. We are -22 so far this finals series. This same umpire group paid 11-1 against us in the last quarter against the Lions.
You won’t have any worries with umpires come Saturday.
