collingwood should have a massive go at all the out of contract guys

like dal santo, riewoldt, judd, pav

i doubt pav will leave, judd will cost us a lot

dal santo and riewoldt are below them o could be good

To be honest, no. Haven't thought about his role in the team, (Riewoldt) but given some recent high profile moves (Aker and Micheal) haven't exactly set the world on fire yet, I wouldn't be the biggest fan of them hunting these kinds of players. Why not seriously hunt a good younger player who can find a place in the team, if they want to go poaching?

Sure, Riewoldt is coming to Collingwood, he'll be vice captain alongside chris Judd, and Garry Ablett Jnr will follow, I mean why stop there?

Seriously, do we need anymore useless rumours about players coming to Collingwood? He's signed until the end of the year and he is staying like Judd will at WCE...

I think Reid projects as a Riewoldt-type as a forward anyway - I don't think Riewoldt is the type that we need.

If we were going to go for a trade that big, I'd rather target Pavlich or Dal Santo, who fit in better with what we need.

If Nick Riewoldt wanted to leave the Saints and was up for grabs, which is highly unlikely and is probably big footy bulls*it at its finest, I would easily make him our number one target, over Judd and Dal Santo. I'll take Riewoldt over those two any day of the week!!!

Riewoldt's only 24, how you can compare trading for him to trading for Aker and Michael who are both past there prime is beyond me. For me Riewoldt would be one of the first players picked for any team.

As much as I would like players like Judd, Dal Santo, Riewoldt and Pavlich to come to the pies, they are there clubs best players and their clubs will be doing everything in their power to keep them.
If the player was going to be traded then he club is going to want so much for them it wouldn't be worth it, I can tell you now, I we were to go for one of those players we wouldn't get them without getting rid of either Pendlebury or Thomas and a first or second round pick.
St Kilda really need Riewoldt as I can't see Fraser Gehrig going on too much longer and if they lose Riewoldt aswell then there goes their forward line.
West Coast have a very strong midfield with these three blokes, Judd, Cousins and Kerr, If Judd did leave even though I doubt it will happen, If it did then its not as bad as if St Kilda got rid of Dal Santo for instance, West Coast have such a strong midfield that if they lost him they could cover him, I cant see him going though.
I also can't see Dal santo going either as he is such a great player and such an asset to the St Kilda football club with his great skill and leadship skills, they would be stupid to let him go.
Pavlich will not come to Victoria if he left anyway as he doesn't want to. Fremantle don't have a really strong forward line if he left then Tarrant would have to start playing CHF and maybe Ryan Murphy would really have to step up into the FF position.
That is just my opinion on the situation but I just can't see any of those clubs letting such superstars like these leave. If any of them them do I hope Collingwood do everything in their power to get them as they would be a great asset to our club. Dal Santo is very loyal to his club as last time he was out of contract Collingwood offered him twice what St Kilda were paying him and he refused, Its good to see its not all about the money, Its the same with Jonathon Brown as a few years ago Eddie offered him an open cheque book and said name your price but he was loyal and stayed at the club he loves most Brisbane.
