Right now, Richmond deserve to be premiership favorites

Richmond would've developed a lot of confidence from the last 6 wins. Most of these games would've got some monkeys of some backs.

They hadn't beaten Collingwood since 2007. That's a big win for them.

They were humiliated by Port in last years finals. To beat them at Adelaide Oval was massive, even if they're not at their best, was a big effort.

They won the dreamtime game for the first time since 2011, after being humiliated in the last two.

Comfortably beat the unbeaten ladder leaders at their home ground. Huge win.

Came back from 32 points down to beat a premiership contender on their home deck. First win at SCG since 2004.

Each one of those wins would've built a lot of belief.

We weren't the favourites in any of those games either.

Tiges are the most maddening team in the league, untippable, I'm in raptures or utterly appalled about every 60 minutes I'm watching 'em.

Need to make top 4 because we'll need two cracks to win a final. Premierships, 2017.
Thats why we are the most interesting club around. What will they do next week? No one has any confidence as to what will happen.

Touched up the Dockers, Swans, Port and the Pies.
Right now, their best is better than anyone, with perhaps only Hawthorn to rival them and their recent form against the Hawks is great.

Remind me of Brisbane 2001.
Looking at their draw they will win all of their remaining games and finish top 2.

Discuss.

Agreed

I'd love it to be true, but no...

Still too young and inconsistent to be a real contender. Hopefully we'll make the finals and win one for a change.

I'm still hoping for 9th. At best, the last spot. I revel in the respectable loss.

but if they snagged Xavier's Dan Hannebury, then they coulda been in the firing line. But the jesuits are loyal, they have about six Xav alumni at Swans. farkin micks

m8, no one had any confidence at what they did lastweek. it is like some big dream sequence, you go to the bathroom to get a blade from the shavingrazer, then cut your forearm to see if you bleed and are awake or in the dream. even if you bleed, you still question if it aint some psychological fugue

They beat Freo at home and Eagles beat them at home but Freo beat Eagles. No one deserves to be premiership favorites. :drunk:

Richmond have proved what they can do by knocking off Freo and Sydney at their home turf. Yet they lost to the demons and dogs. I saw Rance vs the swans and no wonder why Freo want him. Plus looking at how old all their key men are... They are primed at the minimum, a good finals run.

On the loss to the dogs and daemons. Not taking away from them at all but we did have a fairly large injury list at the time. Unfortunately our depth is still quiet poor. only further drafts will fix that.

No chance in a few years I could see them pushing for a flag but they Would want to just win a final this year first
Agree. That's the goal this year I reckon. Win a final, winning 2 would be better than expected, but winning 1 is where we need to be this season. We aren't even a lock to make the finals yet tbh. We have a tendancy to drop very winnable games which could cost us. At the end of this season, we may yet rue dropping the Bulldogs and Demons games.

Sucks to be one of the teams they beat on their home turf, but liking what I see from them, not just the results but the mental application (though the eagles loss was poor)

They should at least win one final from here

According to Mark Maclure, Richmond won because Sydney was lulled into a false sense of security by Richmond's terrible football.

Surely some middle ground exists between Maclure's laughable assessment and the thread title?

Are you saying the OP is Maclure?!?!? That kind of personal abuse has to be ban worthy

Richmond haven't proven anything yet.

Sure - beat the top sides, away from home. Anyone can do that. Means nothing.

Let's see them do it when it counts.

a) On their home ground
b) When favorites
c) Against a poor side missing their few good players
d) In front of a small and disinterested half-arsed crowd.

Then we'll see................

You mean this weekend?

I'm just hoping we can make the 8.
Still not that easy from here after not taking advantage of the 'easy' early draw.
If we keep our form up it shouldn't be a problem though.

same here pleased that Jack is really developed into the star we knew he was, work rate very high//
we could easily win 6 of next 7 without issue and there isnt much threatining outside the 8 either so we should be safe but not counting any chickens just yet til we get there
exciting times ahead but
