Probably his best game this year.

Only 10 handballs from his 22 touches though. If he can turn that into 2 kicks & 20 handballs, then we can compare him to Ablett

He's an exceptional talent, I'll give you that. We literally have nobody other than Johncock with the pace, strength and defensive nous to go with him, and the best Johncock could do was work off him the other way.

He is a gun. I love watching him play. But he is not having as good a season as Selwood, Pendlebury, Murphy.
So i would say he is one of a number of young players who will be elite in years to come.

Not trying to have a go at you Galon, or Cyril for that matter. It is only natural for fans to want to talk about thier gun young players, but its not all in one thread. HP has about 4 threads going all dedicated to Cyril atm. One on this board, a few on the bay one on the polls board that get bumped nearly every week.

We probably wouldnt get all the "cyril is the best ever at any sport, second coming of christ" sarcastic posts if it wasnt for HPs endless hard on for him.

I'm aware of HP's posts, but it just goes to show that one poster can get under so many peoples skin.
And quite easily.

However, this need for people to enter into any thread now, whether it be about Rioli, Selwood or anyone, and make a sarcastic post like 'Everyone knows Rioli is the greatest player to have ever played, ever!!' is just peurile crap to me.

There's another thread on the main board about Selwood, and this exact thing has come up from a poster who thinks they are being quite the comedian. It's off topic, pointless and was only funny the first 50 times.

But as I was saying, this thread is about Rioli being 'the next big thing' which clearly alot of media commentators and supporters think also.
We should be able to post in this thread, commenting on how Rioli is travelling, after all, it's not like a thread has a time limit and should only be posted in for 2 weeks then the topic is never to be brought up again. So like I said, I'd much rather we have one thread that gets bumped than to have a new thread each week.

Amazingly, I predict that if there were fewer "Rioli is teh best evah!!1!" type threads/posts then there would be less sarcastic retaliation. Just a thought...

Considering he hit the post, it's not that much of a stretch, but be that as it may, the best part of that video is his pirouette which is sublime( not to mention he started the play on the half back flank).

If you can't acknowledge that then you're struggling.

The guys from Triple M were comparing him to a young Gary Ablett which I think is a little far-fetched. He is a fantastically good player (which did we choose Myers?) but I think he'll always be a good flanker/pocket who can go into the middle, just like Brian Taylor's favourite Magpie.

at the same age, rioli has had more of an impact then ablett. That does not mean he is better then ablett at the present, or if he will ever be. if anything, its a credit to ablett at how much he has stepped it up when he looked like he was going to be a middle-of-the-road type who might chip in now and then.

Not that I'm having a crack at Rioli, absolute gun. You just hear it all the time and you can't compare like that IMO, as Ablett's first few seasons were nothing special

Based on what?

He has already started playing games in the midfield, and plays over the ground already.

What flaw to his game would stop him playing through the middle (if he doesn't already play through there sometimes already) ?
