This is a classic bigfooty trade where both clubs have opposition ends of expectations
Can i ask, what trades from the last few years do Eagles fans look at and go, yep thats similar to what we should get for Jnr?

You gave up 29 and a future 3rd for Fantasia. So Rioli should be at least that.

Other than the obvious disappointment in him not paying back the club that supported him, how is what he is doing that bad? Not disputing you, genuinely curious. He has nominated a club because they have offered him a deal - isn’t that what every trade basically involves these days? He blindsighted the club which I guess is a dog act but what should he have done differently? Other than not leave obviously.
My feel on the matter is that we've supported him personally from day dot. I recall Simpson traveling up to meet his family after we won the grand final. Guessing he didn't do this for any other players. Then shit hit the fan with his own stupidity, paid him during that period, provided legal counsel for both his indiscretions. There is probably a bucket load more support we gave him that we're unaware of. To then just leave for more cash elsewhere is a disgrace in my view. Personally if it were me I'd really really want to repay the club that gave me a chance, supported me throughout. But maybe that's just me.

The money argument doesn't stack up for me, screams lacks integrity from Willie.

Anyway that's my thoughts, happy for people to view it differently, I certainly never will.

Jokes aside, Port traded pick 29 and a future 3rd for Fantasia in 2020

That’s a fair comparison imo

And I think most posters here would be happy with the expected Amon compo - 2nd round pick so 27 - without the need for a future 3rd

A future 2nd rounder is at the opposite end of expectations?

Given you’re probably a reasonable bet at a 5-10 finish next season, your future 2nd sits roughly 27 - 32.

Throw in the customary F/S, Academy and compo picks and it’s probably 30-35 most years.

That’s a fair and reasonable deal surely?

…or if your Amon compo is end of 2nd round, that will be nearly pick 40?

What is the opposite end that you are currently at?

50? 60?

Fantasia is overs (to me - well duh) on the fact that he was contracted and a fair few years younger.

Allir Allir for a future 2nd is the closest i think. But even then AA wasnt one slip up from never playing again.

Over at Alberton we are all hoping Amon compo lands at end of 1st round/start of 2nd so close to that pick 20.

That isnt an answer to the question i asked at all? 🤷‍♂️

Probably shouldn't offer a player like that a 4 year contract with no conditions attached then should you?

If you get what you want then you can upgrade our pick 38 to the Amon comp pick.

We are heaping disappointment on Junior, anyone know who is his manager?

He needs a piece of my mind for taking advantage of situation for a few $$$

Curious decision to throw a 4 year deal at a player who’s one slip up from never playing again. So your club must have some confidence that he won’t slip up given they’re not attaching conditions if media reports are true

And yes Fantasia was contracted which probably accounts for the future 3rd being included which I said wouldn’t be necessary for Rioli

Fantasia is the same age as Rioli, so 2 years younger at the time he was traded but came across with a history of being injured

If the Amon compo is end of first round then we’d have to offer something back imo. Rioli and 38 for 19/20 would be fair

I don’t think any of that is unreasonable

If your club doesn’t think he is good then why are they offering him 4 years at $500k per year?

If they think he is good then why wouldn’t they offer a commensurate trade? Rioli is easily worth a pick in the twenties. Anything less is an insult.

His age, history etc. are irrelevant, don’t bring them up. If they were relevant, or not a risk your club your club thought worth taking you wouldn’t be offering a 4 year deal at $500k. We owe neither Rioli or PA any favours.

Any low ball attempts and our club will look elsewhere.

any chance West Coast get Georgiades in a deal involving Rioli?

im thinking WCE 2nd rounder + Rioli in exchange for Georgiades+ one of their lower picks? Georgiades was dropped a few times this season and home is always where the heart is.

Eagles 1st pick in this year draft too valuable

A situation where an incredibly talented small forward asked for a trade?
