Okay so this makes me sad a bit - kid can't seem to get his responsibilities right; poor with his finances, has kids and likes a doobie. Hopefully the AFLPA is there for him over the next few years to help with planning for his future.
What made you suggest he was poor with his finances?

any chance West Coast get Georgiades in a deal involving Rioli?

im thinking WCE 2nd rounder + Rioli in exchange for Georgiades+ one of their lower picks? Georgiades was dropped a few times this season and home is always where the heart is.

Eagles 1st pick in this year draft too valuable

Unless and until Georgiades indicates he has any interest of returning to WA it’s a pointless discussion.

He is also contracted for next year so he would only complicate the Rioli trade so WCE would be better off waiting for next year to make any move

Well the post I quoted where he asked the club to help with his living arrangements.
I never knew that, thought on initial mention, was maybe he had a gambling problem.

BUt by jeez Rioli has done the dirty on West Coast and can understand why Nisbett and supporters would be seething.

We are heaping disappointment on Junior, anyone know who is his manager?

He needs a piece of my mind for taking advantage of situation for a few $$$

A strongly worded email, phone call or door step?

I wouldnt be surprised we dont lose more players, we only have a few players the opposition would want. Our team is very very poor & why would you want to hang around if you only have a couple of years left in footy. The guys over 30 couldnt get a game elsewhere that why they arent leaving very sad situation. Hope they learn from this and in the future dont hold to players to long.

Eagles have always been good at retaining players , especially ones coming back from rehabilitation or managing interstate based players.

Really surprise move.

Cant seem to think of the last time a player walked out on the Eagles like this. Judd was one player Eagles fans would have loved to keep- but he didnt owe anything to the club after winning a premiership and being a Brownlow medallist over here. Rioli even though he won the 2018 premiership, just felt that given what he went through with the urine tests /drugs, the club supported him at all stages when they were under no obligation to.

West Coast always been a destination club not a recycled club.

If Rioli had come out and said something along the lines of mentioned he only had a few good years left and wanted to be part of a premiership /finals side (current window), as an Eagle fan you would accept that statement.

To be fair Port Adelaide are in a better position to challenge for a Finals spot next year than West Coast are. Wines /Boaks/ Rozee chucked in with a fairly potent forward line in : Finlayson, Todd Marshall, Rioli, Powell Pepper...has cornerstone to be pushing again for Finals.

Unfortunately West Coast with high draft picks in : 2, 20 and 26 are about 2 years away. Their 2nd half of the season was more encouraging.

I absolutely can't stand Nesbitt as much as most but I have no problem with his comments re Jnr, from memory it's the 1st time in our history that we've shown some mongrel , now if we could draft some mids that have some then we're on a roll!
the paupers at pa have diked us in the past so can't hurt to let them know where we stand.
The MG talk I imagines part of the process of preparing him to come home next year, flick the lure at Mitch early and get him thinking.

One thing I hope West Coast have learnt from the Tim Kelly trade is not to undersell themselves on the draft table.

The Eagles simply have to get this trade period right.

So many bad calls over the last few years and way to many missed opportunities.

Eagles once did such a great job on draft trades and all but the wheels seem to have fallen off.

For the WCE hierarchy stop pandering to the individuals, there simply is no loyalty anymore!

If your club doesn’t think he is good then why are they offering him 4 years at $500k per year?

If they think he is good then why wouldn’t they offer a commensurate trade? Rioli is easily worth a pick in the twenties. Anything less is an insult.

His age, history etc. are irrelevant, don’t bring them up. If they were relevant, or not a risk your club your club thought worth taking you wouldn’t be offering a 4 year deal at $500k. We owe neither Rioli or PA any favours.

Any low ball attempts and our club will look elsewhere.
There is countless trades that prove

- value of contract doesn't equal

extra value at the trade table

without even looking beyond my club, Aliir and Finlayson are examples

Look forward to paying a little more for Georgiades to come home next year…. Maybe we might be able to find a future 3rd rounder for him

I don't really think this has anything to do with his manager. I'm pretty sure Rioli said over the last week or two during one of the few media door stops that he was talking to his Dad over the last couple years about going to Port before he passed away. I think I saw it either in the West or Adelaide Addy and that took me aback a bit.
