Geez I hope we bend Port over with a Georgiades deal this time next year
there seems to be this idea you guys are entitled to a discount because of the inherent risk of having him on your list, and sure if he was on the scrap heap and we were actively trying to flog him that would be a point, but that is not the case at all. we rate him highly yet can't satisfy him.Fantasia is overs (to me - well duh) on the fact that he was contracted and a fair few years younger.
Allir Allir for a future 2nd is the closest i think. But even then AA wasnt one slip up from never playing again.
Over at Alberton we are all hoping Amon compo lands at end of 1st round/start of 2nd so close to that pick 20.
That isnt an answer to the question i asked at all?
Maybe with McGovern next year and Gaff and Yeo in 2024 coming out of contract Eagles are going to have a fair bit of coin to throw around. Why does everyone think he’s leaving Port at all? It’s Sam Edmund made up media stories.
Both Finlayson and Aliir Aliir were both moved on to ease salary cap issues and they were both considered to be steals for Port so they are not even relevant comparisons. There is countless trades that prove
- value of contract doesn't equal
extra value at the trade table
without even looking beyond my club, Aliir and Finlayson are examples
I think if you get dropped twice in a season, definitely thoughts will come back to home. No player wants to be playing reserve footy. Why does everyone think he’s leaving Port at all? It’s Sam Edmund made up media stories.

West Coast forward line will be richer if they can get a combo of: Oscar Allen+ Georgiades+Liam Ryan. I think the achilles with West Coast is their forwards. Its very thin in the ruck , midfield and forward departments. Kennedy gone, Darling and Jamie Cripps wont be there in probably 2 years time, and Rioli wants out. I think for West Coast they will be following Georgiades pretty closely and will be willing to pay him more than what Port Adelaide will be. Maybe Port will focus on getting Rankine as I think they are just as good a chance of landing him over the Crows?
West Coast are a chance of landing Luke Jackson but as rightly mentioned i think by Kane Cornes, Robinson, you woudlnt want to be paying overs on him.

what has Schofield got to do with Georgiades? Im assuming you mean Jarrad Schofield?Rankine was a Crows supporter. He is going there.
I’m not even fussed about Rioli, he’s 28?
I just want Ken Hinkley out of our club. Nothing else matters.
Schofield will be keeping an eye on Mitch, live to know why he left so abruptly… ‘Ken’…
yes they should get a good trade.Unlike gws and other teams who are unloading players for salary cap relief the eagles don't want to lose him.Port wants him and Rioli wants to go.As Jerry Mcguire said show me a decent pick.To further the point, 51 games, 1 premiership, 2 yr doping ban, injury prone, well loved but problematic character,
should wce get current market value with a trade, good for them. Could not envision Jr Rioli playing 52 games at Port.
Rioli had a damn good 1st half of the season, and Im going to say throughout the season, he was probably Top 3 in the Eagles for 2022 - as sad as it sounds. Barrass, Josh Kennedy and Rioli. Riolis best was very good. Wouldnt surprise come Brownlow night if he polled decently for the games he played in.
Yeah. Well he was here for two years before he had enough of Ken.what has Schofield got to do with Georgiades? Im assuming you mean Jarrad Schofield?
Watch this space come Brownlow night. He will easily poll in the top 3 in West Coast votes- easily.Okay you're smoking some of Willie's stash.
It struck me as an out of touch, arrogant CEO realising he didn't know everything he thought he did and not liking it.
The counter argument to this is that you don't rate him as much as Port (or high enough to satisfy him) (obviously)there seems to be this idea you guys are entitled to a discount because of the inherent risk of having him on your list, and sure if he was on the scrap heap and we were actively trying to flog him that would be a point, but that is not the case at all. we rate him highly yet can't satisfy him.
I think you'll find lots of Port fans not too annoyed if he goes the PSD route and port miss out if they dont pay overs too. I can certainly think of better ways to spend 2 mill over 4 yearsBoth Finlayson and Aliir Aliir were both moved on to ease salary cap issues and they were both considered to be steals for Port so they are not even relevant comparisons.
West Coast will not be interested in a third round pick as its unders for a player we wished to retain, have invested a lot of resources into and has been poached with a longer contract and more money.
The general consensus throughout the media and general footballing public is it will be your compo pick for Amon. It's in both clubs interests to just get the deal done but i think today's statement from the Eagles has made one thing clear.
We will not be held ransom or look to do Junior any favours, if adequate compensation is not provided then both Junior and Port best strap themselves in because it's not a forgone conclusion he will get to your club.
Both North and Essendon have shown interest in Junior and would snap him up in an instant in the PSD and whose to say if he cries about S.A being his only destination that the Crows do not either.
I think most Eagles supporters would be more than happy to let one of those clubs have him for nothing if all we are being offered is a third round pick we won't even use. It also means we probably won't feel his absence as much as he will be lining up for a fellow rebuilding side.
2 years at Port and together at Subiaco in Georgiades draft yearwhat has Schofield got to do with Georgiades? Im assuming you mean Jarrad Schofield?
It seems pretty clear from that statement Nisbett thought he owed west coast and would never leave. As you say its the impotent rage of someone who has their own world view and has had reality sneak up and kick them in the ass.
If I had to make a wild and completely unsourced prediction, there was a point recently where Rioli's manager went to west coast and said 'just so you know we're being offered X'... and Nisbett told them to get *ed and Rioli should be grateful to even have a contract.

Probably a telegram.A strongly worded email, phone call or door step?
Good - we're better at Adelaide Oval anywayAFL won't like the optics, we won't get a port game in WA for a few years
