Well Freo played with 17 men on the field. Tarrent could not give a rats about being on the field.

That being said Essendon played with 16 on the field as lloyd and lucas didn't play either.

Freo were pretty poor I'm not sure they even laid a tackle, I hope the Rising star judges take this into account.

Richmond say hi! ;)

obviously his mates as juniors never read TRS's hand-book for the guide-lines of producing proper nicknames
I didn't know that pointing out a shit nickname was a matter for handbooks or committees. Precious much?

Zaharakis should one day have a coffee with Anthony Corrie who somehow got lumped with "Nuxy".

White played an outstanding game, but he suffered from the same affliction as Zaka & Beams, they all played against very weak opposition.
The reality is, the kids generally do well when everything is going well, but struggle when the opposition get the better of their team. As brilliant a player Joes Selwood has been in his first two years, you wonder how well he would have gone playing for Melbourne.

Hille: 1 Goal, 5 Marks, 14 Possessions, 11 Hit Outs, 1 Tackle.
White: 1 Goal, 3 Marks, 12 Possessions, 28 Hit Outs, 2 Tackles.

And Hille's the third best ruckman in the league?

As an example, try comparing Zahrakis to, say, Judd's game, and see how he compares?

Stats are misleading

Judd 25 possessions 11 contested 10 tackles 1 goal eff 80%
Beams 18 possessions 7 contesed 6 tackles 1 goal eff 78%

Judds game was awesome against Brisbane. But while i am wrapped with how beamer is playing it wasn't anywhere near half as good as what Judd did.But looking at the stats makes things look better than they are.If you never saw the games you'd say sheesh the kid had a game almost as good as Judds.

Stats wreck things in terms of the rising star these day. Where a good backman or ruckman who does what he is meant to extremely well is not rewarded like a midielfder is.

I liked M.Browns game against the power but he won't get it due to the fact he is a backman.

The way this award is seemingly based on stats is funny. Ziebell's 15 touches in the wet were quality and easily worth 20+ on a dry day (or at the Dome), but no one is mentioning him.
Ziebell's game was no better than Callan Ward's, who amassed the same number of possessions in the wet, but which more than half were contested. Neither did quite enough to win the nomination this week but their time will come.

Robinson robbed yet again.

Well done Zaka!:thumbsu:

You honestly expected them to give it to a bloke who pretty much just racked up a few cheap possies in junk time.

Robinson would have behind probably a dozen other kids this week.

There would have been 3-4 more deserving kids from the Essendon game alone, aside from Beams, White etc.
It was Robinson who put the ball down Fev's throat early in the fourth term and set up a goal.

Junk time is a game against Freo who let an Irish rookie notch up 20 touches...

The Fremantle game was a soft as your match against Port.

No intensity.

The garbage time argument applies to Zaharakis, not Robinson.

Robinson had a handful of hard won touches in the last quarter against a good side in a match that was a contest after half time. Robbo's touch, decision making and vision when he received a handball in the backline was first class. Robinson didn't go inboard and rush the kick to risk a turnover, but made the decision and hit Murphy on the wing by weighting a perfect pass over the head of Waite and a Brisbane player.

GUN.

Hird said Robinson has great vision and could play up the ground.

Zaharakis is a gun, yet you can't argue that he didn't receive his nomination because he was a higher draft pick. ;)

It's a raffle...

I can see why Carlton rated Robinson higher than Zaharakis.

Robinson is as hard as nails.

The most biased poster on BF strikes again.

The question has to be asked - was Robinson voted in the best players by media or club on Saturday night? I can't recall seeing his name being mentioned - but, that doesn't mean he wasn't good of course.

By comparison, Zaharakis was certainly voted that way by club and media concerned, so it isn't a question of being robbed - it's a question of being noticed.

You are off your head buddy.

Do you actually believe that stuff you write or are you just trying to fool people?

I can think of 6-8 players atleast who were all clearly better than Robinson this week yet you are having a cry about him not getting the nom.

That other guy is right you are bloody baised as.

well done to the young bloke zackarartitis or whatever his name is ..i'm sure Robinson will get his nomination in the near future .he has stepped into the AFL and plays like he is a 100 gamer, much harder to get noticed in a star studded lineup than a very ordinary one i guess.

Could get very embarrassing for you if your star studded lineup gets rolled by a very ordinary one this week.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I stand corrected.
