That is unfortunately the modern way. Good old bombres aligned themselves to Mouncey during the week for example.

Its these sort of alignments, regardless of how sincere they are, that clubs use to obtains grants from Federal through to local government. I would rather just take it on face value and see it as a positive.

May be the modern way for people that don't choose to consider.....in which case you're likely right.
i.e. If it sounds good, it must be good..................Now let me just get back to watch The Batchelor.

Not sure dropping Rowe was the right thing. Getting him to 100 games would be something to celebrate. Especially after cancer and the knee.

He's been an absolute liability the last few weeks.
And for all the people saying we're too tall (I don't disagree), at least this week we are tall in the forwardline, the backline is much better balanced.

Or perhaps its another example of Carlton modernising their approach. Its the same if not worse in the corporate world.

Have this sneaky feeling Lobbe could end up being our ASOS find this year. We seem to forget so quickly that he was Port's number one ruckman in 2014 when they were a kick from the granny. Averaged 31 hitouts and 6 tackles that year.

Yeah so wheres that form been?

I hope he shows it, but theres a reason we got him for pick 18843

Lobbe is a good ruck. Not his fault he was displaced by Ryder.

Happy with the changes. Rowe was horrible and deserved to go. Charlie Curnow needs some assistance and less reliance, so playing 2 KP forwards will allow him to roam high and wide.....excellent!
Hopefully we play SOJ forward / middle as well and let him help Crippa.....

Common ffs!

Weitering 195 Roughead 193
Jones 198 Schoenmakers 195
Marchbank 193 Henderson 188
Cripps 195 Smith 188
Charlie 194 Brand 198
Kennedy 188 Gunston 193
Mckay 200 Burton 191
Casboult 201 Frawley 193
Lobbe 200 Stratton 189
Silvagni 191 Ceglar 204
Howe 191

10 v 11 above 188 cm. I chose that number to include some KP that don’t go over 190 but it kept the sides closer. Above 190 it’s 9 v 8 but we are including Cripps. Hawks are taller than any side we’ve played at Etihad this year. They don’t play it well. Just like us.

Modernising? What do you mean? Promoting group growth as opposed to individual growth?
Stretch that out far enough and see where it takes you.

Anyway, it's fine to back a cause and promote community spirit but attaching oneself to anything and everything for the express purpose of putting oneself into a better 'light' is patently insincere.

He’s been AA and played in finals anfloves to tackle. He should dominate the ruck and give us first use which we’ve been lacking all year with injury and Kruezers inability to jump. The only time we looked in it was when Phillips was playing. I’d let Lobbe play the remainder of the year.

Can’t remember the specific injury, but he had a reasonably serious one. Back or knee. Has never been the same.

Gone with the lumberjacks this week

We would have easily 12 players over 190cm

Marchbank
Weitering
Jones
Lobbe
Cas
McKay
JSOS
Cripps
Curnow.C

9....my bad
Marchy and Jones are very mobile backs who don’t play tall and often on smaller forwards. Marchy may even play wing.

Cripps and C Curnow run all day and are very mobile.

Our tallness not as severe as it seems.

I suppose the Casboult selection kind of makes sense. Allows for McKay to stay up the ground and work with Charlie in the forward line.
Looks like Rowe won't reach 100 games this year. Might not at all if he decides to call it time or the club agree to part ways.

But the Polson selection is baffling. It's almost as if the team wants to lose games (as it's like them playing one man short). The kid is that far from AFL standard right now, it's not funny. I'm guessing he's probably the coaches pet.

Playing young kids is one thing, but it's another thing when we are rewarding poor performances. SPS, Fisher, Sivagni, O'Brien and McKay at least have shown signs on a regular basis and deserve their spots.

The fact that McKay got ignored for a few games yet Polson gets named in the starting 18 after coming of 3 possessions & two clangers, just about sums it up for me. The MC or whoever is responsible for the team selection need to get their heads examined.

Be good to see curnow and McKay play predominantly fwd with casboult to help as well when not backup ruckman.

All means bugger all though if the backs/mids can't hit a target. Want to see some cohesive ball movement and some genuine skills on show and give this fwd line real crack.

Polson done nothing this far and not necessarily his fault (Not ready for afl and playing in this team doesn't help) Would be nice to see the kid play a good game and kick a goal or 2 just to see what it does for his confidence.

Yeah, would love to see Polson hit the scoreboard on Sunday, even if it's a Joe-the-goose or a free kick in the goal square. Think it will help settle him.
