Preview Rookie Draft

I'd be happy to rookie all 3 players as well as Dwayne Wilson and Darcy Cameron - not sure how many rookie spots we have

3 spots. I'll add Combe and Tsitas because they are the types that come off rookie lists and do well. Charlie Cameron was also mentioned by Dragonss

Looking at our squad we lack a genuine secondary goal kicker behind Jack up forward..

It's a massive risk but Liam Jurrah would be a perfect addition to our attack. I think the potential reward is worth the risk of a Rookie selection.

Wouldnt mind Clayton McCartney. Played as a small forward for Stingrays and Vic Country. Now that we got a few in the draft I doubt we will look at him though.

Yes Luke you have nailed it. Lennon and McCartney now that is a combination I would love to see.

Listening to what FJ said last night after the draft "We will meet early in the morning and have a look at our rookie options, quite a few players missed out who we anticipated that might of been chosen tonight. So still a bit of work to do with three rookie picks but were excited to look forward to what other talent, we can bring to the club." Makes me think, we will be looking at players such as Eli Templeton and James Battersby who were expected to go before pick 40 in the draft and like tigs2010 said a couple of the players training with us are chance for our VFL team.

I don't know if loading up for top 4 is actually a bad thing. Well, it's not a desperate attempt anyway.

It seems to me like they are happy with the youth we already have and that increased development and stand-alone VFL side is factored more heavily into the equation. Youth seems to be covered for right now

Maybe we are at a point where we really can draft for needs?

Rory O'Brien is too small if we're talking the same one. Batsanis is pretty average. Same with Thomas but we do probably end up with him. First 2 would be good gets. Doubtful Pies pass Conlon again but stranger things have happened.

We get 3 rookie selections, and to be honest, I would seriously make love to FJ if we end up with a haul of:

Battersby, Templeton and Wilson.

Would be a ripper rookie draft.

However, I wouldn't mind us looking at Alex Spina, Charlie Cameron, Ben Sokol or Isaiah Miller.
