MsTopG is right about his. Roo was a great player but his results as an administrator speak for themselves. The club has mostly been a dumpster fire throughout his tenure. If he cared about the club more than he cared about himself, he would resign.
Started out well removing sando swiftly and bringing in Phil, from there it’s been a runaway train.

The average poster on social media can not even tell you his actual role. They have no idea about his level of responsibility or who even reports to.

After they finish garnishing their teeth in anger, he’s their first name sprouted out as he’s an easy option. The blame him for everything from the Kennedy assassination to having cold pies at the Adelaide Oval kiosk. Pure nonsense.
I'm not singling him out. I'd be okay with running a broom right through the entire admin. The club's leadership is a rotten, festering, mass of incompetence.

He actually doesn’t speak that well which given his “leadership skills” and being captain is not what one would expect. The amount of “umms”

And yes, I’ve was involved with Toastmasters back 25 years ago which is how you learn public speaking.
Ever heard Roo speak, our best captain. And Tex...

Get your point, but eloquent speech is hard to find in a footballer.

Without being accused of being a happy clapper, we were collectively (Collingwood x2, Melbourne and Brisbane) about 10 points away from being 4th. Your comments is very cynical towards a board who has the club is a very strong position. Unless you have that chicken little syndrome where everything is rotten to the core without any justification or accountability for their comment.

How would you with your 7 post history on here know if I've provided justification? I've spent a lot of time complaining about the club's culture of mediocrity.

I wasn’t talking about you. I was simply talking in generalitie. Check post 1, I said across social media. Facebook, X, Big Footy, the attitude has been the same from a collection of Crows supporter.

Apologies if I implied you were, I was talking as a collective group.

Hard to attribute credit for the Burton et al clean out but he was there for it
He got dragged to it, kicking and screaming, after telling non believers to find another club. He was complicit in hiring Burton then elevating him to GM Footy Ops. He and Chappy changed the terms of reference of the review to footy department, thus avoiding scrutiny of the Board.

Members stand was 2/3 empty for the critical GWS game on a great day.

The AFC is just a corporation pretending to be a footy club. I struggle to support them anymore. 8 years of podcasting about these pricks and it turns out I've been podcasting about an entertainment company. Jokes on me I guess.
AFL as a whole is an entertainment industry.

KPIs are attendance, falsified membership numbers and TV revenue.

People thinking that comments from people who like a facebook page are representative of a broader population are nuts.

Our crowd numbers are cold hard data. They show a massive drop.

And it's not explicable by covid, Port are exceeding pre-covid levels currently. And it's not that we've been awful- the GWS game was a quasi final, we pulled a s**t crowd. This one is a quasi final, we're giving away tickets.

There is a significantly lower lack of interest in our tickets then previously.

It's all down to our older membership base.

Many don't want to give up their membership in case we challenge for a flag soon, but in meantime are happy to stay at home out of the cold and watch in comfort.

The games aren't selling out

Okay

So got rid of Sando and bought in Walsh. Tragedy strikes (twice including Bailey), we make finals. He gets Pyke. We make finals again and then make the GF - start raging favourite, most things through that finals series went against us (injuries to two important pieces in McGovern and Smith, Fairy tale against us, umpiring!)
Football department make a call to do the camp - and completely balls it up
Review and clean out happens.
Rebuild appears to be tracking at above industry average in terms of timeframe for recovery

Absolutely had too much faith in his people in terms of the camp and aftermath. Should have done better. But that’s about all you could hang him for.

A couple of games kicking straighter this year and we look like a genuine chance again with virtually a completely new list in 6 years

Remarkable

There was definitely unprofessional things you haven't mentioned, publicly waring with Hugh Greenwood, telling supporters to go somewhere else.
There was a time there he couldn't speak on radio without putting his foot in it.
Im sure other people have things to add, but he definitely should have given it away or given radio away.

He also left out the part where we won the wooden spoon.

Fair call. I did mention in an earlier post but he did say some things that were poor form that I missed in this one

From memory a lot of it stemmed from his radio gig, he doesn’t seem to be able to do them at the same time with putting his foot in it.

He also left out the part where we won the wooden spoon.

Covid and the changing of the guard caused that. Nicks had a different plan to what Pyke had and was difficult to bed that down with lack of group training. We saw that from the infamous water bottle footage and some senior players not buying in
We finished that season strong and a full length year I don’t think we finish bottom.

I loved it when our football director was clowning around as the boundary rider lauding how well Port were going when the football department he leads led our team to shitsville.

I don’t think you can credit the highs without doing the same for the lows.
Not sure what Covid had to do with our results?
