Got my wish of getting some quality St Kilda people back at the club.

People may scoff but I don't think it's a coincidence the likes of Richmond, Geelong, Melbourne etc have ex players in footy roles in successful periods.

For the first time in a long time I look at our assistant coaches and feel confident we can get the best out of our players.

I'm guessing Harvey is the forward line coach?

Love this appointment, looking forward to Ross hounding journos at press conferences and watching him get the most out of the current St Kilda squad.

Clearly still has the passion to coach and I'm hoping he brings the club some degree of success - even that elusive flag.

We weren't going to win a flag any time soon with the other guy, and this guy promises that he might beat some of our softer campaigners into shape. What's not to like?

Nah I reckon he’s going to come in and deploy the exact same game plan as he had 10 years ago based on a completely different game, he also didn’t mention having to improve and change and adapt in the presser either so we are stuffed really

I especially hated that he got us to 2 grand finals and had a winning percentage higher than any other St Kilda coach

Honestly with the photos it's just great to see the boys have been down there early before pre-season getting stuck in. I've got a great feeling about Clark this year he's a talented player and Ross will know how to use him.

Yeah but Fyfe, Mundy, Sandi, Pav and Mayne...

Pav was into his 30's and well past his best and Fyfe was still very young and raw when Lyon took over.

They had some good players but it really wasn't a great side on paper.

The fact they only had one AA player that year (Johnson) showed that Lyon was not just relying on stars to get them there

He was able get the likes of Mundy, Mayne and Walters to another level they had not been able to show

: if he stays injury free I can see him being the best ruck in the comp under Ross.

I also see improvement coming in Hill, Steele, King, all of our defense.
