Feel like a club that has their soul back. Correct me if I'm wrong but Jason Blake the only one at the club who was there during our GF years under Lyon before Hayes came on earlier in the year.

Pav was into his 30's and well past his best and Fyfe was still very young and raw when Lyon took over.

They had some good players but it really wasn't a great side on paper.

The fact they only had one AA player that year (Johnson) showed that Lyon was not just relying on stars to get them there

He was able get the likes of Mundy, Mayne and Walters to another level they had not been able to show
Even players like Mzungu went to another level and played his footy in 2013.

Not sure exactly where it orginated however media outlets are running with it today. Apparently getting announced this week.

Harvey and Ross seem to me to be two different types of leaders so I hope it works out if Harvs is the one who will actually be appointed.

There's a few on the current staff who I think will probably go, namely Roughead...not sure how he fits anymore.
Harves worked under Ross in 2011.

Also if what I heard today is true.

The assistants won’t necessarily be line specific.

Honestly with the photos it's just great to see the boys have been down there early before pre-season getting stuck in. I've got a great feeling about Clark this year he's a talented player and Ross will know how to use him.
I've got a feeling he'll be out on his arse begging Clarko and Ratts to adopt him so he can finally realise his dreams of wearing the Tesco's carrier bag.

Don’t really care about the arms crossed. Hayes just looks like he means business. There’s an intensity about him.

He was a state captain in the SANFL team voted ahead of all other SANFL captains. He looks like a guy who you'd trust to lead men. Carries himself like a boss.

Way back we used to have training/track reports both on here and on SS. There was a solid bunch of track watchers. Closed sessions became a thing and I can’t say I have seen too many of those type of posts for a long time.

Track watching is going to be mighty interesting from now on. Who are our training reporters this pre-season?
There's a poster on SS, saintmike65, who does regular training reports, they are quite thorough, he also let slip after Lenny Hayes was appointed as a Saints assistant that Lenny was married to his daughter.

Not sure about the last paragraph. So, is 'Schwab' stating that Carlton & Essendon knocked back Lyon. I was led to believe that it was the other way round. And if Eddie McGuire was on the yacht, then why would Collingwood knock back? Lyon. Surely Eddie still has some clout at the Pies. They just decided to go with a cheaper & younger version in McRae.
Unfortunate mess at the time, but as the reporter states, if a settlement was obtained & Lyon wasn't put on the sex offender's register's list. Then that is the end of the matter-by law.

Say what you like about Eddie, but he was one of the great modern presidents and not a bad mentor for Bassat. Walsh looks like a suggestion from Ed and I wouldn't be surprised if he encouraged us to go big and appoint Ross Lyon as well. We have a tendency to keep our heads down and aim low. This is big club stuff.

Wins best on ground in the GF with a leg fracture
