relax he s entitled to his view ...even if Its an overreact

Nope. It was a really fun thread to read and then loc drove it into the ditch because of their pathetic axe they want to grind incessantly when it comes to Sam Mitchell. That’s why they’re thread banned from the Mitchell coaching thread because they continually posted utter nonsense.

I would post this in the Sam Mitchell thread but I have been blocked by the bigfooty moderator on this Hawthorn board without any explanation.

Sam Mitchell talks too much about individual players in public. It goes against 50 plus years of Hawthorn culture to never individualise.

I have mentioned this previously... and at that time the moderator who banned me from the Sam Mitchell thread said that Sam never did this. He mocked me for my opinion, too.

In today's coaches press conference, the journalists quickly worked out that Sam was an open book on players. Sam was willing to make comments on each and every player. So the journalists kept asking about each player.

What happens when we lose? What happens when Sam has to lie about players?

Sam, please, just DONT TALK ABOUT THEM INDIVIDUALLY IN PUBLIC!!!!!!!!!!

i.e. when Clarkson was ever asked about a single player by a journalist, he would defer the question by mentioning 10 other players in the team.

Sam needs to put an end to it.
Oh, yeah! The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.”

Great to be back at the G with a crowd to watch the mighty Hawkers.
Great for the team, Sammy and coaches included to get the first up win. Plenty to work on, there were skill errors, beaten in clearances again, and growing pains with picking up the new game plan. But a lot to like.
Love Newcombe, MacDonald and Ward were promising, Denver looked to me a little short on confidence but will improve. Loved having Gunners and Sic back.
Worpel, JOM, Chad and Nash to improve and Breust in particular to come back.
Also enjoyed watching Horne-Francis, the kid is a bull.
Let's take it up to Port, will be a huge step up from Norf.

Your sad sack diatribe is exactly why you were threadbanned. Just unequivocal nonsense. Feel free not to bring it to other threads - we’re all enjoying the day you pathetic killjoy.

Wow... perhaps your comment is why the thread is only ten pages long.

Open discourse has really been shut out of bigfooty.

Really really poor. How disgusting is your treatment of another human being.

Attention moderators to an example of the kind of abuse that comes to those with differing opinions... yet it is the differing opinions that get `moderated'

Attention moderators.

If you’ll note my posts in the thread up until your miserable input was commenting on what I found enjoyable watching today’s Hawthorn win. Kudos on being able to overlook any of the positives to go straight for Sam’s jugular because of your lonely crusade to pillory an absolute legend of this club for not meeting you’re bizarrely exacting standards of what meets ‘the Hawthorn way’.

I have issues with Hawthorn coaches talking about individual players in public. I celebrate when other coaches do it.

Kennedy, Jeans, Joyce, Clarkson never did it... except in error. Schwab lost his temper at times and did it.

Did you enjoy Clarkson trawling out the same old tired excuses and same old boring cliches, game after game, over the last few years?

I celebrate when other coaches do it.

I have the feeling Mitchell is intelligent enough to avoid the things you're worried about when we lose.

This thread is twelve pages long.

Two years ago it would be twenty pages long at least and with many more views, likes and contributors.

Take note all those enforcers out there wanting to dictate what people must think and say on this board... those always willing to make this place unwelcome to people who think differently. .

Shutting down alternate view points gets you some quick likes, i am sure.

Actually the round 1 2020 autopsy thread only reached 15 pages total - but go off, king.

Missed the game due to a family function but saw the second half on my phone. Ran the game out better then I thought they would. Skills of both teams about the level I expected. Happy with the win and now onto Port - as long as they have a crack I’m happy.

Has Sicily had some plastic surgery gone wrong or something ? He looks different . Has anyone else noticed that or is it just me ?
Yeh I noticed it as well.

Looks a bit like Mickey Rourke in the Wrestler these days instead of Anthony Michael Hall in the breakfast club!

Don't care if he plays like he did today though 😛

Yeah there’s refreshing honesty in the he’s going about it.

You come in here with an ideology and agenda of ‘non-censorship’, yet you want to censor Mitchell?

You’ve made your point. You’re allowed to have your point. However, literally everyone so far thinks it’s a rubbish point. Repeating yourself isn’t going to persuade anyone that Sam Mitchell should not talk about individual players. I’ll tell you why your opinion in rubbish.

Firstly, your assertion is based on falsehoods. Clarko responded to reporters plenty of times “yeah, we were pleased with his game tonight”, “yeah we were a little bit worried about xyz but he managed to come up well and have a significant contribution.” I’ve watched a large majority, if not all, of Clarko’s pressers over the years and while he may look to often downplay the individual brilliance of one person to reinforce the importance of the team, I think you’re deluded if you think he didn’t discuss individual performances.

Secondly, your point is rubbish because who do you think you are to know what is better for club culture, than someone who has played in four of its premierships and is now the senior head coach?

You’re not being censored, your views are just utter trash.

if Sam wants to let players wear long sleeves - okay

if Sam wants to gatorade shower debutaunts - okay

if Sam wants to let players slump on the ground against the wall after a game - okay

If Sam wants to make lots and lots of changes to Clarksons reign - okay.

etc etc

But there are limits.

Hawthorn culture is Hawthorn culture.

Don't talk about individual players in public, please.
I personally hated that Clarkson couldn't/wouldn't answer direct questions about players. It was evasive. Sam is being straight... I like the change.

Wow, look at Moore’s game: 19 disposals, 10 marks, 6 tackles and a goal. That’s really quite superb, and few are talking about him.

8 score involvements also - stellar game, and you’re right it’s going under the radar a little due to CJ and Newc having outstanding games.

I like that we had so many players 22 and under who did well today that one of them is getting overlooked a bit.

Crazy to think that he saved his career with that last game of the year in 2020 (I think)

Now he is probably one of the first picked every Thursday night

Testament to his mental strength and application, kudos to the young fella!

Dylan Moore, first of his name, breaker of curses.

time to go to bed mate

Quite pleased with the win. We have a way to go, but the club, coach and players understand this. What I liked was the foundation, and I can see us building on that over the season. Nice to have Gunners back in front of the sticks and Lewis presenting so well up forward.

I know we haven't seen him for over a season, but did anyone feel Sicily looked different somehow? I couldn't put my finger on it, but good to have him back as well.

Can't let it go without mentioning the game of Dylan Moore. Also looking forward to a long and happy career at Hawthorn from Jiath, he did the number 9 proud tonight.
