I think he's right now didn't play in any practice games cause of his childs birthHe's having Achilles issues isn't he?
I reckon you’ve pretty much nailed it..Membrey no certainty to get up though!I'm going to assume the worst that Windhager and Ross are out for Rd 1. Would leave us with 10 players unavailable through injury. Pretty brutal way to start the season. Predicting a 23 something like this.
If Windy and Ross are fit, I think Bytel and Byrnes go out. Stocker becomes the sub. Although I'm not 100% convinced the Saints will go all of Steele, Crouch, Ross and Windy in the same 23...
B: Jimmy Webster Dougal Howard Josh Battle HB: Jack Sinclair Callum Wilkie N W'neen-Milera C: Mason Wood Jack Steele Brad Hill HF: Jade Gresham Tim Membrey Mattaes Phillipou F: Mitchito Owens Anthony Caminiti Jack Higgins FOL: Rowan Marshall Brad Crouch Hunter Clark I/C: Jack Bytel Dan Butler Zaine Cordy Liam Stocker Ryan Byrnes * E: Cooper Sharman Ben Paton Nick Coffield

This is where Owens comes into it I think. We don't have a second ruck who can match Jackson and Darcy around the ground. I think they'll forego winning hitouts and opt to put an extra body in there in the form of Owens. If he's fit enough to play I would be picking him for Rd 1 as it would allow Marshall to play up forward as well as in the ruck.
Match fitness might be a problem as he didn't play in the practice games but as a back up ruck he may only need to play about 50% game time anyway.
He would definitely be a better option as a back up ruck than Cordy, I hate to think what Darcy and Jackson would do to him if he was their opponent.
The best ruck option is Battle- Ratts used him last season and he did pretty well in one game. Owens is still a young guy learning the gameThis is where Owens comes into it I think. I like it but wouldn't have both of Stocker and Byrnes in there with no forward rotation.i'd go with:
B Webster Howard Wilkie
HB Nas Battle Sinclair
C Hill Steele Wood
HF Higgins Owens Phillipou
F Butler Cordy Cimanti
R Marshall Crouch Bytel
I/C Clark Stoker Paton Byrnes
if these are the outs:
King
Membery
Ross
Jones
Billing’s
Windhager
Hayes
That’s the best version (of our limited options) that I have seen to date.I like it but wouldn't have both of Stocker and Byrnes in there with no forward rotation.

C Hill Steele Wood
HF Higgins Owens Phillipou
F Butler Cimanti Titanic
R Marshall Crouch Bytel
I/C Clark Cordy Paton Byrnes
thats what Ratten did to GWS last year and it worked a treat, although it was an in game adjustment.I can see Steele, Crouch, Ross and Windy (if Windy gets up) all in the same team against Freo BECAUSE they have Darcy and Jackson, essentially concede the hit outs and make it real grinding contested scrap at ground level from the centre bounces and stoppages. And RoMa also trys to be more productive as the extra midfielder.
I think it's the only realistic squad atm. It's a worry that the Titanic hasn't been used in practice matches but l do hope they're protecting him for R1.That’s the best version (of our limited options) that I have seen to date.
The team for round 1 and probably the first few weeks will probably be a case of ....I think it's the only realistic squad atm. It's a worry that the Titanic hasn't been used in practice matches but l do hope they're protecting him for R1.
Hammer won't be able to run out a full either game so he needs some coverage.

I’d be playing Campbell and subbing him off by halftime to bring another runner on.If he's fit enough to play I would be picking him for Rd 1 as it would allow Marshall to play up forward as well as in the ruck.

Sounds like a waste of a spot though. Marshall doesn't need cotton wool, he is the number one ruck. A cop out is only 5 minutes a quarter...what's Campbell going to do the other 25 mins? He isn't a great forward

He was quite good in that last game against Swans. He’ll do what he did when he played last year which was basically nothing.
I'd rather Owens, caminettis or Cordys output as options. They are far more game and mobile when not in the ruck. Campbell is a good back up, but he is a plain ruckman, not a forward/ruck. You're robbing Peter to pay Paul. Just concede the hit outs for 5 mins but have a superior ground level fleet to nulillifh the advantage some what. Same as what Battle did to GwS last yearIf the alternative is getting smashed at every clearance for 20 minutes of the game and conceding a few goals in that time then it could be worth while. Campbell's output as a forward would probably match what Cordy or Caminiti could do. He has kicked four goals in an AFL game before.

It must’ve been pancake day, Long played well and Hannebery played (well).
Do you still have to pre-book seats? I though that with the membership cards being brought back that we didn't have to go through all that crap anymore? Just scan at the gate and go to any empty GA seat?
