Gaffs ability to cover the ground isn't my concern. It's the time he takes from receiving the ball to distributing the ball when we're coming out of the back half.

He will always do well to present an option for us as we exit defence but if he is used he needs to pull the trigger first kick every time. The stop, prop, retreat behind the mark just doesn't cut it. In fact we should be building a plan to run and gun off Gaff via handball. He's the first back but those trailing him should present an outlet handball option that we can then wheel and go, run 15, kick 55.

People need to remember with Gaff our gameplan has not been fast ball movement by hand until this season. We mentioned it last year but didnt have thecattle to implement a new style.

So criticising Gaff for playing the game plan the coach has demanded until now is unfair IMO. And that style will be hard to change straight away after years of careful ball movement and switching play across half back becomes second nature. Plus you cant go fast and hard every single time if players arent set up in support.

So lets give Gaff and others a little bit of time to fully embrace the new game plan, it wont become second nature to all of the players until we've built the experience and most importantly..............the SYNERGY!;):thumbsu:

Cheers to late evening West Coast footy. My Watch AFL is ready for the 21:45 local start time with a case of Blood & Honey Ale and Frito Chili Pies. My SIL has been footy converted and is over to watch. Sumich was an eleven goal kick in my first and only live watch footy match. How about 5 today Oscar? Bring it Eagles!

All about approach today.

The team has more than enough quality to put North away comfortably, how it attempts to make use of that will determine the outcome of this match.

Clarkson's omission of Goldstein is signalling they want to beat West Coast on the outside and expose the defence for pace.

Cancelling Cunnington and Greenwood for the first possession at stoppage before they can offload to the runners surrounding them will be key.

Feel the match will be decided by how effectively the Eagles can defend on the post-stoppage transition.

Logue has a good record against Darling so a lot of responsibility falls upon Allen in his first appearance in 20 months.

The first page of a new chapter begins.

This is your leader speaking. Here is an important announcement. It has been put about by back-sliding revisionary paper hyenas that the West Coast Eagles Football Club is folding. This ... is a lie! (thumps desk) Our glorious football team gallantly continues to function. We will get your goals through! These are dark days and the storm clouds gather around us. But never fear! I pledge that I, your leader, will see you safely through to a better world! ... And now ... (reaches for record player) A Walk In The Black Forest Park.

Why single out two, the pies ran over the cats. We have very few who on exposed ability can run that well.
I was thinking about this last night, there is no way we can play that style of game against those teams at the moment, we would get destroyed. We have to find a way to slow them down, especially the pies.

Looking forward to the sideways and backward kicks in the back half. We’ll likely be spending afternoon tea in the back half for the game.

Told my casual footy supporters friend that ruben is a big boi. Cameras better do him justice and show his rig.

Hyped his body up like a it was nathan buckley in his youth days
