Gaffs ability to cover the ground isn't my concern. It's the time he takes from receiving the ball to distributing the ball when we're coming out of the back half.

He will always do well to present an option for us as we exit defence but if he is used he needs to pull the trigger first kick every time. The stop, prop, retreat behind the mark just doesn't cut it. In fact we should be building a plan to run and gun off Gaff via handball. He's the first back but those trailing him should present an outlet handball option that we can then wheel and go, run 15, kick 55.

This game is going to open up pretty quick in the heat so having an advantage at both ends with our talls will hopefully get us over the line.

What is this, 2010? Just open the Kayo app on your phone and screen cast it to your TV. The LG should have an inbuilt caster.
Yeah yeah, I'm old but not completely clueless.
I'm lazy and just want to turn my TV on, press the remote and watch it, plus quality drops off when you connecting to a phone or laptop.
I've paid bucks for a oled 4k screen and it annoys me it doesn't carry the app.

Watching the game last night was a reminder that it's no place for injured players. Kudos to the club for no selecting players with leg injuries/niggles.
We need speed for pressure and attack, not sure where it will come form outside of a few new players. Some of it is above the shoulders but leg speed isn't our strength.

Where do we reckon Jones will line up? Small forward, back, or a bit of everything?

There seems to be six genuine defenders (the two talls, Hurn, Cole, Duggan and Witho) plus Shuey/Ginbey probably sharing one defensive spot. So I think he plays forward/mid, probably the role Rioli played most of last year. If a defender gets subbed out he’ll switch back.

Problem is, the only place he's really shone is half back. He wasn't really cutting it as a forward so not sure why they are trying to force him back into that role.

Thought he showed a bit in that role early last year. He was our best in round 1.

Is Jack Petrucelle's career pretty much over?

He's out of contract at the end of this year. At 23, with more than 50 games under his belt, this should really be his breakout year... but he's named on the emergency bench. In a side that is looking to rebuild, and looking for young players to lead the charge, he should be front and centre. Instead, he's already been overtaken by Rueben Ginbey, Campbell Chesser and Noah Long.

For a player in his position, being named an emergency for the first game of the season should be a pretty clear signal that his career is not far from over.
I don't think so, Jack has been hammered by hamstring issues so priority number 1 is probably just some continuity. He has actually shown a bit when actually fit and playing full games.

No Todd Goldstein so that evens things up.

Just buy a chromecast with google tv - TVs - Shop OLED, QLED, 4K Smart TVs, QD-OLED at JB Hi-Fi
All the apps I use work way better on this than on the native tv apps, has been one of my best recent buys

Jones can rotate a little through the middle as well. He offers a lot of flexibility

Its not like his game is built on being an explosive athletic freak .

Natanui is the one that is cooked . Recon gaff will have a good year
Never claimed he was but he is ridiculously slow across the ground now and even slower with ball to foot ( and crooked, will literally turn side ways just to snap around the corner now). I don't see what he will bring that will stack up in a modern game plan.
NN is a concern but it is only a matter of getting his body right. He still has the tools to dominate the middle of the ground. Gaff doesn't.

Predictions! WCE by 20.
Bonar to get beaten by Darllen
Gaff to run 15 km and pick holes all day long in the zone
Gov to rule the air
Chesser to have 4 great looking disposals before being subbed off
Clarko to snap at a male journo with no news coverage
