Pretty much this. Yes, no Yeo or Naitanui but otherwise most of our list is available and there are always no excuses for lack of effort. I can handle a solid loss as long as the signs are there. Simmo has had 2023 to reset, we now have a few high draft picks, and 'credits in the bank' crew should gagf.

Bursting with enthusiasm about today's game. Too scarred from 2022 to be overly optimistic of victory, but keen to see our four debutants plus the return of Oscar. Hoping to see some signs of a new gameplan and the Eagles not making getting the ball out of the backline seem like trying to escape from Alcatraz. Will be very happy with a closed roof to negate the possibility of having to sit in the sun, but expect it to be really hot nonetheless. Hopefully that benefits the Eagles. I'm sure the purveyors of liquids at the stadium will do a lucrative trade today.

The mods are away. Round 1 vs last season’s 18th. I think this will go swimmingly.

The Mods vacating the room for round one vs last years wooden spooners…. Like prison guards turning there backs in the yard.
Only take one gaff Clanger or our backline chipping it sideways to retain possession for 5 mins for it to fire off. Throw in a shuey hammy and the camera panning to simmo in the coaches box and…..

Looking at Geelong Collingwood, if simmo thinks gaff and hurn can play with that speed, he will lose his job real quick.

Neither of those two would play in those teams.
