Only thing that got me and many other fans through last season was lots of Beer or Chardonnay.
This season is going to be different. A change is happening through the club and it's supporter base. And it's just the tonic that we need.
2023 will be the year we transition to Ginbey.

Fox sports don't even have Culley mentioned in their predicted team this weekend

Oversight, or he is injured? Ever since he was omitted from that second practice game things just haven't felt right

Fox Sports best 22 had Hunt at half forward and no ruck backup for Jamieson. They also had Hough at half back which I don’t think happens as he seems on the outer for now

Not sure what, if anything, to read in to Culley other than he must have had a slight niggle prior to the Crows game. Not significant because he still played the second match but he’s been on light duties since

Happy Brad Scott Week everyone!

Surely that's when we play Essendon?

I think this will be the team

B : Cole Barrass Hurn
HB : Duggan McGovern Shuey
M : Gaff Yeo Hunt
HF : Cripps Allen Petruccelle
F: Jones Darling Ryan
R : Williams Kelly Sheed
I : Jamieson Chesser Witherden Gibney

In the game against Adelaide Kelly and Sheed were around the ball for most of the game and Yeo, Shuey and Gibney were rotating half back to midfield. That opened a spot for an extra mid which was O'Neill but I am guessing that in a practice match they were giving Yeo a rest and when the season starts Yeo will be around the ball for most of the game with Kelly and Sheed with Shuey and Gibney rotating half back to midfield.

Therefore there is no room for Culley and the only change I could see is that Petruccelle plays down back with Witherden going out and maybe Long playing forward.

Oscar Allen said yesterday there would be a lot of bloke's standing around doing very little at training yesterday and it doesn't mean they're all injured but more load management.

Culley was lighting it up all preseason, hadn't missed a session, training every day.. Bit of Allen 2022 areas. Whether he broke or it was precautionary, I reckon they've backed him off. Maybe he had to be saved from himself. Maybe he had a niggle he didn't want to disclose because he wanted to get minutes at all costs.

That’s pretty much what I’ve guessed with the exception of Waterman (a forward) replacing Witherden (a defender)

I think either Culley or Hewett will be the sub with the other named as an emergency

HEdwards (ruck cover) and Petrevski-Seton to be the other two emergencies

Hough, Clark, Witherden, O’Neill, West, Long and Rotham (when fit) are on the next line of selection

Naitanui the only best 22 player missing

That team, in my opinion, is way too mid/defender heavy.

Shuey, Hunt, Yeo, Chesser, Ginbey can all play across both positions.

If we are selecting all 5 of those guys (and I think at absolute minimum 4 of them play) then Witherden looks excess to needs. I'd prefer to play an extra mid than an extra defender if we are going to select a single-position-player (technically Culley can play forward also - but I'd say that is unlikely with 2 talls plus a resting ruck).

Chesser is really the only unknown amongst the players.
Hasn't had much exposure to date, so be curious to see if he lifts and shows glimpses of the expectations placed on him?
We know what Ginbey will bring..

Lets hope they have a good crack, don't expect to win this game. Resting players due to excessive load, sounds like they are still requiring some fitness training. A win would be a terrific outcome and hopefully some of our young guys show glimpses of talent.
