Ok, I have a go a month out .

Impey Frost scrimshaw
Weddle Sicily Amon

Ward Nash McKenzie
Reeves Newcombe worpel

Macdonald Lewis Ginnivan
Breust Chol Hardwick

İnt chg:
Massimo
Gunston
Watson
Husthwaite
Morrison

Can swap Finn with Harry if there's a tag to be had . İf Moore is available then him over husthwaite. Still with the outs , our side looks balanced on paper.

Is he vanilla quick........?
I've just come from another thread where the term 'vanilla slice' has become a euphemism for the female pudendum and I'm trying to work out if this is a continuation of that or simply a reference to the uninspiring journeyman qualities of Harry M.

I fear the latter but retain hope in the former.

Yes but not totally accurate. When he was deep he played on them however when he moved up the ground he had scrim and weddle pick him up. I remember a contest where i was actially quite impressed with Scrim who was quite physical with lewis bumping him and bodying him as they approached to contest the ball. Scrim punched the ball away.

They all swapped playing on different opponent at different times including Serong
Correct 4P. The defensive unit were all swapping and covering for each other. Scrimma's contest against Lewis did stand out because it showed he can play that key post against a bigger sized opponent.

Even if he was not manning up Lewis full time during the match, I think it is a sign of good things that Phillips was able to fit into the group that kept Lewis under control. It means he understands the role.

I know you are not saying it is not, but that is the way it should be.
Team defence and structure is where defence will be better than last year.
We are working on it. I hope we get better. If so, it will propel us up the ladder.

We are really building a squad of very good to elite kicks.

Elite - Massimo, Sicily, Mackenzie, Amon

Very Good - Day, Newcombe, Ward, Scrimshaw, Watson, Hustwaite, Moore, Hardwick, Gunston, Breust, Weddle, Mitchell, MacDonald

This is something that we used to be hell bent on when Clarko started. Elite kicks.

Then as time went on, we sacrificed kicking and here we are.

I love Mitchell sees the things that Clarko did that worked early on, and is implementing them.

I am awaiting our Guerra, Hale, Dew etc to be picked from the scrapheap in the next couple of years and turned into stars!

AFL stats for last year, if you take out those with under 200 disposals ranks Sic, Hardwick, Scrim, Weddle, Amon and Impey as our top 5 kicks. Having said that, I often think a safer kick to 50/50 shouldnt be ranked as an efficient kick. Id like to see a factor applied for risk vs reward, ability to hit a difficult target, open up play and accuracy over distance. My guess if that were applied, would find Sic, Amon and Scrim as our elite kicks and agree that Mass would probably join that list in 24. Mackenzie not yet, until he improves his goal kicking on the run and with set shots. (said with a high expectation that he will, hes a gun). Haha this is an interesting subject. To me the best kick Ive ever seen is the coach...both sides factor...apply that one!!!!. 1708486523220.png

I see a few similarities between Lever and scrim. If he can become a genuine CHB, that’s a big gap in our rebuild covered.

Impey - Phillips - Sicily
Scrimshaw - Weddle - Amon

Massimo - Newcombe - MacDonald
Reeves - Ward - Mackenzie

Moore - Lewis - Ginnivan
Breust - Chol - Watson

Hardwick - Nash - Worpel - Hustwaite - Gunston

Just a wild dart throw.

This exists, it's called kick rating. Unfortunately Champion Data keep it under lock and key.

You're most likely to see forwards and midfielders in the best kick rating category anyway because the nature of their kicks are more difficult. Defenders are generally kicking where the ground opens up, and midfielders and forwards are kicking where the ground narrows in.

Frost was in the gold team for the intra. He’ll be there Round 1.

Tis the latter (I'm staying well away from the former, actually that doesn't sound right.........)

With McCabe going down and our tall stocks looking very depleted, I'll throw my hat into the ring.

Pros:
I really dislike Essendon
Tall
Once played against Harry Sheezel
Half decent runner

Cons:
Can't play footy for s**t
Haven't played club footy since I was 11
Not great at jumping
Lose focus easily
I usually work Saturdays, but I might be able to get the shift covered

Sam, if you need me, give me a buzz and I'll be there*

*Pending finding a cover for my shift
