Tigers were lucky they were only 7 points down in the last, same as last year Blues wasted chances could have won by plenty tonight as well.

Irrelevant to the thread. Anyway:

Carlton kicked at 51% last year, and kicked more behinds than goals in 14/24 games last year.

Guess what their accuracy was tonight? Yep, 51%.

Saying "they wasted chances" is just stupid, because they do it every game.

If think Bugg caused alot of people to not pick Morris aswell. I think people picked Bugg becuase he was safety so early on that people knew he was playing and no other rookies could be guaranteed. So massive benefit not only by his 97 score but also the benefit in the fact most people with him wouldnt have picked Morris aswell. Considering Ellis always seems the better pick than Marty Clarke was in most teams as well and they were the 3 rookie defenders that were most popular.

I still think Morris will be alright, not every team has a Garlett and Eddie Betts. His job on Garlett was quite something, only 11 disposals and one goal against his name, i know you dont get fantasy points for it, but great effort and should get himself another game next week.

Ellis on the other hand may have Jwebb, Conca breathing down his neck.

387/5, Mumford and Malceski my only top end midprice/premium picks to play.

Pretty happy with that so far. No real disasters so far for me.

Honestly thought I was looking at my own side there for a second, out of those 18 players you have mentioned only 5 are different!

I have scored 627/8 so far. I'm pretty happy considering they were 5 rookies a mid pricer and 2 premiums. All good scores from here hopefully haha!

698/9

Shiel - 36 :(
Morris - 27 :thumbsdown::eek:

Still to come (on the ground)
9 premiums + C (5 of which are $500k+)
3 mid price
Magner

If my 9 remaining premiums play to their 2011 average, my 3 midpricers get 70 and Magner gets 60 I will get to 2000 but things could have been a lot better.

Bugg and McDonald as emergencies hurt, I would be 800/9 with different decisions.

Goodes was a late inclusion. I should have kept Sidebottom and Porps (though the extra 45k did help in the mids). Pors would have meant no Kennedy on field too.

I am confident Coniglio and Shiels will come good.

When I saw Conca with the vest I sacked him, but didnt pick a replacement yet. So have $294k for a defender out of the remaining sides, any suggestions??

Hargrave, Lake, Howard and Golby are the popular picks for that price.

Golby and Howard are speculative breakout candidates who both made their Debut in mid 2011 (but have been in the system since 2010 and 2009 respectively).

Hargrave and Lake are fallen DT premiums who succumbed to injury. Many hope a return to fitness and decent nab appearances are a sign they could become high scorers again. They are both 30+ which is a risk.

Any could pay off... the question is who?

Boils down to young and fit but highly speculative vs experienced and proven but old and injury prone.

I will be starting two of these four but undecided on who.

I have Hargreave and Lake already, am thinking of banking some cash and going with Jared Bouman who is named in back pocket for the Hawks, mature aged rookie starting in a side that is known to rack up easy possesions in the backline.

But apart from that, i dont know anything about him so is a bit of a risk because he could get vested and no real JS

I'm sitting on 776/9, had goodesy as captain but on the upside had 5 rookies and goodes cotchin Martin and lids. Many premos to come. Still angry at missing the dune bug, he may get a gig on field next week for me

On 729/8

Seems to be slightly above the avg. only 1 rookie to go in the starting lineup in dickson

Bring on the premiums and mid-pricers ftw

With Hodge out, Swan should dominate as he usually goes head to head with Hodge.. He is now my Captain above Ablett.. Anyone else got this train of thought?? Also, Kudos to me for switching out Ellis to Paine 5 seconds before lockout - IMO has the potential to be the Darling of 2012..

To be completely fair, Ellis and Morris both had shutdown roles on some of the best small forwards in the comp... Talk about a baptism of fire..

I'm on 587/7. Not very good at all.
I'm actually not overly disappointed in Dusty's score. 79 off a fairly quiet night isn't the end of the world. Only got 2 rookies left to play anyway. Tonight will be monstrous for DT

In struggle town at the moment.

7/472

Shiel, 36
Giles, 77
Smith, D, 69
Robinson, 82
Ellis, 38

To come- 12 premiums, captain and 3 rookies.

Hoping for 2000.

Nice work - but don't talk too soon haha, anything could happen tonight.

Would love to get one of those Collingwood youngsters, but just concerned with all those players to come back, hard to pick which one will stay on.

Fair point. I have had morris right up until 6pm yesterday but traded him our for Paine from COllingwood. I just thought he is a dour stopping defender and not likely to get many points. Paine is also a risk but wiht no Brown at the Pies and Dawes maybe playing time in the rook I think Paine may go ok. Time will tell.

Morris will play lots of games but may not score too well.

I had Gibbs Deldio Martin and Ellis in last nights game, so only really Gibbs delivered. Unfortnately I put Robinson in my Supercoach team at the death too against my better instincts.

8/644

Goodes - 84
