I would like Yze to make a few tough calls on senior players set a standard, because some we're awful. I just hope he doesn't go down the line of believing the hype of certain senior players like previous coaches because we need a injection of youth and rejuvenation.
Would do it in drips.Dont see the point throwing them into the deep end and expecting any real benefit too come out of it other than shattered confidence. Not this early in the season when the game is at high speed.
Mid season fair enough games alot slower.

Agree and I've stated this on numerous occasions as sometimes people look at the symptom and not the cause. However, the Young reference i was making is he able to take on a monster like Curnow or McKay which another poster suggested also? Young is also iffy and in two minds at ground level and can make horrendous errors and some unforced ones.
I'm not convinced Young is going to be good enough to be the main man down back, and I agree he's very panicky at ground level.

But unfortunately he is the best we have at the moment and a far better option than Miller who seems to be afraid of body contact.

Jon Ralph on midweek tackle said if we get to round 6 2-4 or 1-5 then thats likely when the call will be made to play the kids and go full rebuild
What a genius.
He should be our next ceo.

Garbage…the whole point is that he made contact with his jaw…that is an offence under afl rules

You are judging it as whether the impact caused injury….

Issue is the CFL creates grey areas so it can swing with the way the wind is blowing….making it up as it goes along
What happened too the potential rule or is that based on what jumper you wear?

Still inexperienced at the caper, but we need to still have him on the list bc that necessity is unfortunately still there. It will be interesting to see if he can develop his game further to an Astbury level or whether he's at his peak now.
He was still a top 5 1v1 defender by contests lost last year so that is pretty ok. He also looked a lot more composed last year. Hopefully this is just a bit of over confidence that can be scaled back as he gets a bit more humbled and experienced in his own limitations.

why we rushing them back in if they're still iffy

No Injury and Feeling FreshWork them like a dog. Only reason they are fresh is because they are not working hard enough
No Injury and FatiguedWork them like a dog. Only reason they are fatigued is because they are not fit enough
No Injury and unable to TrainWork them like a dog. They need to make up for not being able to train by getting 99% TOG
Injury and Recovering - Close to returningWork them like a dog. Play them for 99% TOG as what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and the only way to truly test if you are fit is a trial by fire
Injury and Recovering - In RehabWork them like a dog. Only way to help cover the muscle and stop further injuries is to make sure it is as strong as possible
Injured Short turnaroundWork them like a dog. Rest is for the weak.
Injured Medium turnaroundWork them like a dog. You can recover when you are dead
Injured Long turnaroundWork them like a dog. But did you die?

What this says to me is that Jack Ross should not be Sub and should be on the Wing over Pickett/McIntosh (which ever is out of form most). If the stats say he was a top 10 wingman and on the weekend he was the most impactful player when he came on then we need him on the field for more time over some of the plodders we have.

why we saying Broad's done? Thought he was still travelling well outside a couple games

I reckon we should play Lunchy 100% time on ground. This managing minutes shit always just leads to more injuries
