Hey question for members. Ran into a neighbour today who is a member and he said the club stuffed up the membership numbers or cards or something? Anyone hear this?
Yeah I keep getting emails to go and pick my new one up from the club. Don't know why? I don't even use it or need it for entry to games, my phone works well enough.

In our two most recent games (both wins) vs Sydney, we got away to a good start.
Need to replicate this year.
Give a grand final team confidence and it'll be pretty hard to drag back.

I missed the away game at the end of 2021.

Nonetheless, whoever started better win the match.

I think the AFL has done us a favour with the draw at the start of the season.
  • We play well at the start of the season.
  • We play well against Sydney.
  • Sydney and Geelong have had a shorter preseason than we have due to going long into the finals.
Therefore, if there is a time for us to be competitive against the benchmark teams, it’s early in the season.
The ball is in our court.

Agree on most points but including the last season it looks like we adjusted to last hopefully the whole season and the season start was very average (2W 5L).

Pardon the intrusion guys.

Flying up for this and was wondering if there's anywhere around the stadium to grab a drink? I'm just getting the shuttle from Pac Fair (assuming this is the best method) so is it better to hang around there and grab a drink before the game?

Suns’ predicted Round 1 team

B: Caleb Graham, Sam Collins, Ben Long

HB: Charlie Constable, Charlie Ballard, Jy Farrar

C: Brandon Ellis, Touk Miller, Elijah Hollands

HF: Joel Jeffrey, Mabior Chol, Ben Ainsworth

F: Jack Lukosius, Ben King, Nick Holman

FOLL: Jarrod Witts, Matt Rowell, Noah Anderson

I/C: David Swallow, Sam Flanders, Darcy Macpherson, Alex Davies, Brayden Fiorini

We say:
Ben King makes his long-awaited return from his ACL injury, forcing Levi Casboult out of the 22 despite playing a key role in the forward line last season. Charlie Constable is set to get his proper opportunity at the Suns in a new half back role with the likes of Lachie Weller, Connor Budarick, Wil Powell and Sean Lemmens on their way back from injury, while Brandon Ellis should play despite battling a calf issue. Bailey Humphrey pushed his case for a Round 1 debut after an impressive showing in the match simulation against Essendon, but a foot setback might’ve hurt his chances.

And bring back the tapped beer instead of just pouring from a can
I miss that satay food van. A few years ago now but damn it was good.

HUN version

GOLD COAST

B: C Constable, S. Collins, B. Long

HB: C. Ballard, C. Graham, J. Farrar

C: B. Ellis, T. Miller, E. Hollands

HF: J. Jeffrey, M. Chol, B. Ainsworth

F: J. Lukosius, B. King, N Holman

FOLL: J. Witts, M. Rowell, N. Anderson

I/C: D. Swallow, A. Davies, S. Flanders, L. Weller

Sub: M. Rosas Jnr

The watch: Touk Miller is good to go after the Suns reassured he’d overcome his hamstring injury.

Ellis out isn’t ideal. Hollands has been training on the wing permanently over the Summer, but we don’t really have anyone else fit who can hold their position and work point post to point post the way Ellis does. Quite an under-appreciated role externally he plays. Hopefully Swallow/Flanders/Fiorini? (Whoever gets rotated through there) doesn’t get too sucked in to the contest otherwise Gulden/McInerney/etc will have a field day.

It looks like Ellis still has some way to go. 3-4 weeks?

One could argue we are missing 6 best 22 or at least 4 depending on opinion. Not ideal but all should be back by round 4 except Budarick. Huge opportunity for Constable first several rounds (I am still not convinced).

A bit disappointed about soft injuries this off-season. It looks like some boys reached their limits.

I think hollands plays the Ellis wing and the other is taken up by swallow, Flanders, luko maybe fiorini if he gets the nod. No mention of rosas so assume he's good to go. Get the feeling we go tall and sub one out around half time. Fiorini as sub.
