It was rather a strange feeling to see Chocco Williams sitting in the Melbourne dug out wearing the red and blue of Norwood even odder when I saw him patting our opposition on the back while wearing Norwood colours.

Geez, Chocco gets around doesn't he ?
More clubs than Tiger Woods, and he looked as miserable as all f*** when the siren went!

What a win guys.

I was thinking during the week how the Melbourne media mafia are not giving Port the love that they deserve.

Everything has been how good is Colllingwood and Melbourne - with us a distant third and you guys never getting a mention.

Hopefully that changes this week!
Usually switch off pretty quickly but was enjoying a couple of extra beverages and ended up seeing some yak show after the coverage.

I can't remember who was on the panel, Mooney and couple of others I think, after talking about the game and how much Ports deserved it question comes up along the lines of "So what does tonight mean for the overall scheme of things"

In a heartbeat Mooney "nothing, still Collingwood and Melbourne as the 2" to which they all reassured each other with quiet nods.

However as stated above, I reckon having no expectations on us helps our cause. Not sure how Brisbane fans feel about it.

Dylan Williams is a bewdy, cool as a cucumber.

Shows natural skillful footballers can still trump pacey athletes that kick it from arseh*le to breakfast.
The bullet like handpass through traffic from Jonas, Dylan takes time to sum up the situation and coolly foot passes it to Wines on the boundary. all happened in the chaos of the last minutes of the final quarter. A first 22 player!

Watching the replay, Williams, Drew, Lycett, Lord under rated but outstanding.

Butters just phenomenal as we all know. Rozee fantastic, JHF solid, but we don't win without the efforts of those 4 above.

Houston was prolific as well, SPP manic as always, Wines continuing to grow into it in the last couple weeks.

Overall such a phenomenal win. One of the best in many years.

Have said several times, but it's now all about consolidating the win by winning next week. We have the Hawks in 2 weeks. We just need to get through the Tigers and then suddenly the whole world becomes our oyster.

P.s. still can't believe Williams game. So ******* good. Unbelievable turnaround in his career
I feel like I would have written this exact post.

Lycett was terrific. That’s what we needed from him!

yep

it probably highlights the importance of keeping his body right for big games and september

Strong use of the word magnificent, you must be easily impressed. I wonder whether last nights win is now Hinkley’s self described “best win”, surpassing the famous round 1 victory over Melbourne in 2019
I am not easily impressed pal. Just sick of idiots derailing a great moment for supporters who actually just want to enjoy when it warrants. On your bike.

Am I the only one who is totally confused at the 50 metre penalties that are picked out by the umpires? Last night we were penalised twice for * knows what yet Jack Viney boots the ball after the umpire had blown the whistle to award a free and there is no 50 !!!

All this on top of the free against Powell Pepper for bumping Max Gawn as he ran back to contest the centre bounce.
There was very poor umpiring both ways I thought. I dont think it heavily favoured the Dees, its just one of those games where both sides would point out the nonsense that negatively affected their side because there was so much nonsense.

I was forever hoping Williams would come into the side and deliver as touted in the forward line.

Then the slow development, the care free attitude and all too few glimpses of hope had me thinking it simply wasn't going to be. If a broken fantasia, mcentee, rioli and co could keep one out of the side, the future is bleak.

Then to come in, in another position and perform at such a high level has been remarkable.

The williams replacing DBJ down back, DBJ taking a spot in the forward line has been a 1 + 1 = 3!

I'm not getting the wraps on lycett. Yes he was better than expected, but he was dropped for Brynn teakle not long ago.

The wet conditions allowed him to get away with scragging to try to neutralise the ruck contests more than usual. It mostly worked, til he did it twice in a row and gave away a goal that could have cost the game.

Still absolutely cooked. But he is better than teakle who shouldn't be on a list.

Let him run into people through winter then bring in SAM HAYES 💪👊

Why do the umpire pull these out of their ass in Port games?

Seriously, gifting a clearance is garbage.

Funniest thing about this is ole Maxy, rightfully so, thinks he is the one thats given away the free.

How you can hold a bloke while taunting him, sling him aside and then proceed to initiate a bump and trip on him as he goes to get back into his position on the field while simultaneously plodding off to the bench, and then get a free kick for it, is beyond my comprehension.

If it were Boaky vs Gawn would the outcome have been any different?

How do you not have Farrell best 22 ?
Cause someone has to go out of the side for Marshall and Burton is a better defender and player than Farrell.

Dylan Williams is another Dan Houston and needs to keep his spot.
